Inception Trident vs Shocktech Superfly vs WGP Delrin?

    Hey all

Title says it all! Working on my 2K2 Black Magic. Looking to pick out a great bolt. I wasn't able to find any direct comparisons of these bolts. What is the general consensus?

    So far I have:

Inception: Most expensive. Has nice side slits to increase the life of my ball detent. Large air inlet.

Shocktech: Mid range price. No side slits. Its Shocktech - proven to perform well.

WGP Delrin: Least expensive. Has side slits. ????????????

Anyone have experiences they can share? Any thoughts on bolt with Oring vs no Oring?

    Thanks!

I use Shocktech bolts in a couple of my cockers and have always liked them. I have a full length ID bolt but it was super tight (regardless of o-rings) that I have but it’s unused and untested.

That said, I did some very basic testing on a half block using a stock WGP bolt, an ID bolt and an ID Trident bolt and the Trident gave an increase FPS vs other bolts. Testing was very preliminary. Used one marker and just switch bolts and use a chrono.

Inception or AKA are my go-to's for builds. They both work great in my experience. My Shocktech CG2 shoots amazing and that obviously comes with the Superfly bolt. I don't think there is a bad option between the three.

AKA bolts always seem to work very well for me, but they’re a bit more expensive.

My “go to” bolt is usually the Delrin WGP Worrblade bolt though. Easy to find (typically), works well, and they don’t cost a fortune.

I am a huge fan of ANS quickpull bolts. In my at home tests they were one of the higher flowing bolts and they soften the sound signature noticeably.

Shocktech is a great option, but only if it is a good fit for your body. Theoretically the top bore of WGP guns is a good match, but I have run into issues in this regard. The ST bolt really works great in the guns it fits well.

ID bolt is excellent, and I have had no problems fitting it to bodies with the provided different sized orings. It is my go to. Lots of great features and nice and light.

Need Inception Designs or Shocktech Products? Let me know!

The inception trident bolt is really designed to work in 99% of the bodies out there. Different size orings for different fits. Milled to reduce weight. Nice strong detent ball spring so you don't lose your pull pin. The opening on the bottom is larger than most bolts but similar to the wgp orracle bolt aswell as the belsales evo bolts. It helps eliminate variations if you have some kind of body that has weird issues like the valve hole in a different spot than spec.

Shocktech bolt is nice and much more simple. no orings, non adjustable ball detent pin spring or detent slot.

I do also like the aka bolts, but i also machine bell detent slots in the bolts that don't have them so there is that.

If i had to pick a build for myself. It likely would be an inception bolt. Mostly due to the ball feed ramp on the top of the bolt.

If you end up going with the shocktech or inception bolt and want to order through a mcb member..... both Hellion360 and i are dealers for both.

Adding another one to the list, how does the Freeflow Smooth AF bolt compare? I've used one in my Trilogy Pro and like it better than the stock one, especially with the TechT delrin backblock the reciprocating mass is much lower and faster cycling. I've never tried any of the other ones, I'm curious how they compare to the FF.

AKA is always a solid choice, especially now that you can buy them with the retaining screw. I've never had good luck with ID bolts, for some reason. Always get major blowback with them. Both of my teammates with ID cockers (one Predator, one Hornet) could only fix it by swapping to an AKA. I had similar problems with some, but not all, of the WGP delrin bolts. Surprisingly, I've had less issue with bolts with no orings than ones with. That included Shocktech; I've never used their Supafly bolts, only the earlier alien bolts. But they worked well for me.

Interesting you left out freeflow. It's just like the ANS just way lighter. The dookie brown put you off?
