What's the deal with ANS GX3 cockers

Im not at all familiar with the many different 'off-brand' cockers. I'm currently debating building a pump marker out of them and was looking for insight into the quality of the ANS gx3's that I seem to be seeing everywhere. Any info on cocker bodies to avoid would be great

They are fine bodies. Neat milling on them and never heard of any problems with tolerances or anything. They aren’t Psycho Ballistics cockers.

Stock they are a tad heavy but the ANS sliders are great.

Came here to say this. They're solid, but a bit on the chunky side. Sliders are great. Drew, since you'll be coming from a Phantom it probably doesn't matter that much cause anything will be way heavier than what you're accustomed to.

There is 1 quirk I know about because I had a body with it… some front block threads in the body are tapped something different than standard. It’s very close to 2k+ but it’s not. It can simply be retapped for 2k+ if you don’t have a mating front block banjo screw or want to use a standard 2k front block or pump kit. No idea how many bodies had this quirk, but I don’t think it was a lot. Also no idea why there are different threads.

I had a GX-3 back in the day and the lower tube was threaded.

Maybe it depends but I had a red/black fade GX-3 that wasn't threaded, had the dialer

Yep not WGP blanks, they have no SN, so they are flockers, but on the better end of the scale.

My understanding is that the ANS slider frames used pre-'98 spec plates and sears long after everyone else had moved on.
