New R/T Kits a possibility but only 7 available!

Chris Fosnacht just posted in the Autococker Gawking Group on Facebook. He might do a run of on 7 RT kits based in the Shocktech Gunfighter frames.

If anyone wants one you might wanna message him ASAP. I have a feeling those 7 spots will go quickly, post has been up for less than an hour and already a few people saying they'll take a kit.

If you don't know about the kit or Chris:

I'm writing this almost out of a sense of duty, as there are very few of these in the wild, and even fewer that build and understand them.  I happen to be one of those that do, and get asked about...

Still not a reason to get Facebook. 🙂

That's pretty cool though. Why the Gunfighter frame?
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

I don't have a clue because I'm not really familiar with how they work. Fullofpaint would be much better qualified to answer that question. i asked the gentleman who made the post. I'm sure he'll share if/when he has time, will let ya know what he says

It's 100% how they work. The way it's set up, with the linkage arm acting as a pivot to the trigger plate, is about as friendly to the R/T system as humanly possible. Basically, when you normally set up the frame, you do so knowing that the ram is going to be punching the trigger or trigger plate, and the geometry matters. Since trigger plates have different shapes, the leverage isn't the same across the entire plate. That means that you can actually vary the speed depending on where you're pulling the trigger---meaning you can gain/lose BPS depending on where you are pulling the trigger. Sometimes you want that, sometimes you don't. It can also make newer shooters lose their strings in the R/T bc they weren't in the right spot of the trigger.

The GF frame, bc it's hitting a linkage arm that controls the entire trigger plate, does not ever have that problem. There's no slack in it, and the plate is sliding back into that linkage arm, which is getting punched by the ram. Whole thing moves without flex---so what you pull is consistent. They work great. Add in that you're also using a true 45 frame that's almost hollow, and it also weighs almost nothing. And it does have a little extra meat, so I can mill the frame to hide a ton of where the hose is getting run. It's a great frame for this. It wasn't done like this on-purpose, but it really is good for what I do with them.

It sounds like the Gunfighter frame is a gamechanger for the kit ...and a good reason for current owners to buy a second! lol

Well what do you know, Chris Fosnacht was here on MCB all along.

minimag03 - you sir, you just cost me a pretty penny on an incomplete toy. Without this thread, I would have gone on to live happily oblivious, but you just had to tell me about the possibility to get my grubby little hands on an Annihilation kit, didn't you?

To add insult to injury, this is the most money I have blown on a marker that isn't an Automag. If it at least had been an Automag, I could easily have justified the cost to myself. I'd better win a Marker of the Month out of this.
        Got Bork?

What can I say? I'm habitually the devil sitting on my friends shoulder 😂 but I think you'll be thanking me in a few months... or 6 months depending the anodizing schedule.

And I'll come out and say it, though it will sound a bit elitist: I couldn't stand the thought of all the kits going to people on FB when I knew some members here probably wanted them more and would value them like treasure. This place has been good to me over the years so I try to do what I can when I can. You cannot tell from my join date but I was on the original MCB, the website before the last one. And in all that time, I've def taken way more than I've contributed.

And i was surprised when Chris showed up too! I sent him the link when Jordan asked about the Gunfighter frame. But it's also not surprising lol. I feel like most tinkers of and enthusiast have an account here tho they might might not post much.

I'm sure they're all gone by now, but what were the kits going for?

Wow. This project has lured me back out.
I think I remember Chris tinkering around with pieces from OG reflex. I was so excited when I saw the shooting video over on FB.
Not sure if I've linked this properly to see.

Awesome to see this! I can't see that link, but I've been tweaking and reworking parts over the years and have a system now that works extremely well. Oddly enough, the bolt has seen the most tweaks over the years, but the current design works incredibly well.

I am sold out. That said, if there is interest, I'll see if I can get handful more blocks made and source frames. I literally bought out ST's site when I got the first 7 frames, but believe that they have more.
