question about buying used eblade 2

I'm considering a used eblade 2, reputable seller and all that. He wants to add the ram on for $100, it has QEVs. I'm not positive if I need this. I have a freeflow CF ram already. What is the advantage to having the QEVs and are they necessary for the eblade 2 to work right? Also, is $300 shipped paying too much?

What brand of ram is it? Does $300 shipped include the ram? Wouldn't be able to say without knowing those answers.

its the ram that comes with the eblade 2 or is made for it. The PE one.
      No, it's $100 extra.

I think I can just buy and install QEVs on my ram, no?

Quick Exhaust Valves would allow the marker to cycle at a higher rate of fire (assuming the settings and timing are good, and everything is in good shape)

In my opinion it’s not particularly worth it, most rams will already cycle at a fairly high ROF without QEVs, and it seems like a lot of fields have 10-12 bps limit anyways

Some of my E-blades have QEVs, but most of the markers I’ve assembled in the past couple years I’ve never bothered to use them.

Tough to tell if $300 is a good deal, depends on the body, parts, and condition. Pictures would help us judge better.

it's in very nice condition, chrome frame, PE noid. comes with everything you need to slap an eframe on an autococker. minus the QEV ram

      $300 for just the Eblade?

For the 20 year old piece of electronics that sourcing parts for becomes more and more difficult every single day?

For the thing that turns janky ass autocockers into much more janky and less fun to use autocockers?

Your call on the price. Currently I wouldn't allow someone to give me a eblade for free. I have enough old stuff kicking around.

Yeah you don't need QEVs unless you are trying to shoot more than 12 to 13 bps. With most fields being 10.5 bps these days I actually took the front QEV off of my eblade to be a little smoother and more gentle on paint (slower bolt speed coming forward) and I always have it capped at 10.5 or 12.5 at the most.

The freeflow smc rams are pretty fast and work well for eblades. I would skip the $100 for the ram/qevs and put it toward a sci fi board for modern firing modes and bps limits.

$300 is fair but maybe a little high price if everything is in good condition. You may be able to find better deal shopping around. Black is worth more than chrome or nickle plated.

sounds good, thank you for the info. I just finished assembling my half block with some random parts off an old right feed. I think I'm gonna play with it in semi mode for the summer. might rethink the e2 later on down the road. I gotta get bored of it first! I wanted it to "grow up fast" and I think I'm gonna let it have it's semi auto childhood. ahaha my shockers can shoot ropes instead.

You risk burning the solenoid out faster not running qevs.

I have and like to shoot mech cockers too but there is nothing cooler to me than an eblade ripping.

I haven't had any issues sourcing parts. Ive found new noids and rebuild kits to still be available. SCI FI paintball makes new boards with all the firing modes you need.

Eblades tend to take a little more attention to detail because I think you tend to shoot more paint with them but I've found them to be just as reliable as mech cockers. Just don't crank the lpr pressure too high, don't let the backblock slap the body and loctite down threads (hammer lug, pump arm, etc) that may rattle loose with a lot of shooting.

no back block to speak of. That's the main reason I wanted to convert it. I've never had a midblock with an e frame. Never seen one actually.

I thought 300 was for a marker with an Eblade, not just an Eblade. Does seem high

I had a feeling that's what you thought. Yeah, I would be cool with that. I could have spare parts or sell them. But Nah, it's just the t frame, noid, eye, cover, and board.

there'sa guy selling a black magic with an eblade for $400, but I'm not sure if I trust that guy

$300 is a big high for me too. The ram is worth $100 on its own. I was hoping you were going to say $300 with the ram.

i'd try for $250 for the eblade.

thanks for the info, I passed for now. I'm waiting for the exact model I want. Do you happen to know what kind of bolts work in a midblock? I have a shocktech bolt from an impulse that came with it. It feels like the diameter is too big and I want to get a bolt that's made for this. ICD has one but its $50, do you know if there's any bolts I can transform into a midblock bolt that actually work well or should I just get the thing made for it?

There's the Empire bolts for the Resurrection around $35 or the Inception Designs bolt for a $50ish.
