I took a chance on a beat up trilogy body a little over a year ago on ebay. Paid $33.56 for it shipped to my door.
Outside of the body was sanded raw, with a very weak attempt at polishing it. I didn't really have any thing specific in mind other than using it as a test bed for mill work.
Well i finally got around cutting on the body some the last couple of months.
Posted 6/1 that the body had been minied, ram mount removed, feedneck modded and the sight rail rounded. I really had bigger plans and didn't think it would happen as quickly as it did.
Pics below show how rough the body actually was.
Anyway i found some time to machine a body fixture. Which didn't turn out fantastic, but well enough to get this sucker cut and looking significantly better. There is still some clean up and refining that needs to be done, but it is a night and day difference from the $30 body that landed on my porch a year ago.
I ended up having a 0.020" blem in the feedneck due to cutting the first op touching off the feedneck bore instead of the vise. I need to update the cad model, but overall super happy with how it turned out. More stuff to come in the future for sure, but for now enjoy the pics.
