    Removing feedneck for stockclass

I have a pre2k RF body I’m planning on turning into a fully stockclass marker. What is the best process for removing the feedneck without damaging the body?

As far as I know the feedneck is just press fit into the body. I've never tried to yank one out, but I don't think there are any tricks keeping it in place besides friction.

Though, if you have to ask you probably shouldn't attempt it. Your best bet (and what I would also do) would be to pay a qualified machinist.

Oh ok, I remember reading a old, old thread on PBnation where someone mentioned taking a blowtorch to theirs first and then yanking it out, but I’d also heard of folks just taking a pliers to it and giving it a pull to do the same.

If you don't care about saving the feedneck, I think some elbow grease should work. Don't quote me lol.

Ok so get that body in a good bench vise with wood on either side as to not damage the body. Get it good and snug in there. Drill a good size hole through the feedneck about midway down. Grab a punch or sturdy Phillips screw driver and slide it through both holes. Give a good twisty twisty and they pop out. If you don’t feel confident send it my way and I’ll do it for you.

Honestly if you are going to install a stock class feed, i would get the feedneck cut to match it. It will help keep the paint in a stack and avoid more sharp edges from removing the feedneck.
It wouldn't cost very much and will look alot cleaner when it is done.
If you need help let me know.

You mean having it cut flush with the top of the body?
