    First autococker build

Good morning everyone! First time post here. Figured this would be the best place for advice on this topic. So as the title says, I'm looking into building my first cocker. I do own a Trilogy Comp, but I'm interested in an Orracle as my next gun. I do not intend on this being a shelf princess, and it will see the field/woods. That said, should I go through with building one from a body (Yes I know ano will likely be involve)? Or buy one working and assembled and mod it out from there?

    Thanks in advance!

prob cost you twice as much to buy the parts separate and assemble together, but thats the fun part about autocockers is making it exactly how you want it.
If its your first I would buy and existing full gun (or one just missing a couple of things), and take the whole thing apart and replace all the regulator seats and o-rings that looks suspect.

I would agree with BrendanB I would try to find a whole marker, maybe shoot for one thats not working and needs a rebuild to save some money. Play with it for a while and see what you would like to upgrade. Building everything out from scratch would get real expensive. You could do what many of us sickos on here do and just keep buying random cockers and lots and swap pieces from them until you get one perfect cocker and 9 great cockers!

I think it really just depends what you want in the end. Do you want a really nice cocker or do you want something that just works and you don't care about all the frills.
you can also have someone else build it and pick the parts or send it to someone else to build so it is easier to maintain.

I have a gloss black mini orracle body that needs a home.

I'll be sure to keep that in mind. But I think I'm going to try and go with a partial or whole marker. I see you're an inception dealer. I know I'm going to be interested in adding a RIP frame. I guess they stopped making them, so I'll have to look for one second hand. Or are they just sold out that quickly?

Hey sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I'm assume it's the WGP style. What are you looking get for the RIP frame?

You're in the right place! Parts is more useful from a learning perspective. Also, the Ravi timing article is pretty helpful, i think it is sticky posted on here somewhere

Typically I buy 5 markers to build one, then say oh I'll sell off the rest of the parts but rarely end up selling anything.

so.. yes build it from scratch, and I can shamelessly sell you my partial oracle build

Welcome, you are definitely in the right place.

I'd take a look at whatever hot garbage latches109 has for you =-P

But I'd start with a complete or mostly complete. First objective is to get out working on whatever budget you have. Get it shooting, go play and see what you like and don't like then go about replacing parts. This way it will be shooting the whole time and you can always take it out to the field to play no matter where you are in the build. It's also a great way to learn things like if you don't like the trigger frame because of the way it feels or you want a drop forward because you are awesome and know they are far superior. Stuff like that.

My cocker started off completely stock and I upgraded it piece by piece. My goal was to get it as far from stock as possible and now the valve retaining screw is the only stock, unmodified part left. The fun part was through the whole build I was able to play with it because, besides sending out for anno it was together unless I was in the process of replacing something.

After your 20th build you will be collecting parts over the course of a couple of years to make that perfect build. Buckle up and enjoy the sickness.

I have built a few cockers since I got my first trilogy last year. If you want to build on a budjet 100% go for a trilogy as there are enough parts to do some wild stuff with them. If you want to build a killer cool marker gi to the WGP site and buy a raw build kit before they are gone. I have one ordered for myself, another raw cokere bodu that im waiting on a frame for for the wife. My completed builds are a simple trilogy build, an all out trilogy build, a trilogy S/F build, and a GX-5 build.

This is like an ostentatious legendary gun drop in one of the Borderlands games. Like, while equipped, it occasionally whispers, "deeeaaath..."
