So a few years ago I attempted to turn an 05 Ego into an autococker. I don't have many surviving pics of my project but in the end I ended up mounting a front block to the body by cutting down and tapping the LPR retaining block to mount it and get a Styn valve sealed in the lower tube. The problem I faced was there wasn't enough material between the two tubes to put a bolt sled. My test bodies were intended to be proof of concepts before moving to towards an 06 Nexus ego body, why all this effort?
Well because we never got the DC3 we all yearned for. And I wanted to make my own DC3, using parts at the time I would have expected Eclipse to move forward with had they continued their cocker lines and updating it for the modern age. A half blocked body for weight reduction and BPS speeds without having more mass to reciprocate. An electronic valve, allowing for a smoother operation with no lower tubing hammer slamming back and forth. And we've all seen the crazy speeds achieved from the MQ valves. Slimmer grip frame after eliminating the clapper noid. Break beam eyes, and with a different board and front solenoid achieve an open bolt autococker (it can be done after seeing this man's youtube videos). Taking the autococker platform to the next level with all the innovation at the time.
Determined I did a lot of planning and part hunting and contacted Justin over at Mozak to bring my dream to reality. Well for the most part anyways, I had to make some sacrifices but in doing so I think it came out even better. After sending out a Nexus Ego body I had he made me this beauty.

He milled me a custom body that accepts a Sig/DC front block/vasa that I had in the parts bin in case I came around a poor DC1/2 that was pumped and lost it's original parts. It has a ram mount made from Jason Antle, and it's 11/16th. Finally I had a home for my FT2 noid housing and my extra Styn valve. And a custom rail I got from Ryan Jameson years ago that fits the OOPs asa perfectly as if the frame looks like it has the rail seen on 05 Star frames. Now after all this time of collecting, waiting, and planning I am ready for anodizing. It might not have break beam eyes or be ran open bolt as I wanted using the Ego's original detents, but I am more than ecstatic this project is now getting prepped to be shipped off to ano.
