Benchmark Frame - Help an idiot out

I'm working on a project and 3D printed the benchmark frame found on ZDSPB. I put in a 98+ slider and sear from ACP, but the sear sticks way the f out and doesn't drop far enough to release the lug.

I know I have old man eyes, but isn't this a 2k spec plate? It sits perfect in the frame, and I'm inclined to think Andy has proper dimensions in CAD.

It looks like your sear pin is in your grip panel screw hole?

I think that may be a pre2k plate.
I took a few of my plates out, top is a 98/99 I think; it's a backup for my FF Millenium with a Benchmark. The middle one just came out of my 99 benchmark frame in my parts bin. The bottom one is a 2k+ Shocktech plate.

That top one is a pre 98 plate and the bottom two are 98+ plates. The double step in the bottom of it is the differentiator imo.

I think the pin in the screw hole is the issue most likely. I just spent a ton of time in a benchmark and had to use a pen spring as the trigger return spring as the other ones I bought (ID) were too wide in diameter. Funny enoughI had to shove the trigger spring rubber in my sear spring to get tall enough. The trigger plates are pre 97 and post 97. So probably fine with what you have. Good luck, let us know how it goes.

The top hole is the pin hole and that bottom one is where the grip screw goes. But I also agree that you may just need to mess with spring sizes to get the sear to drop, or just cut a couple coils off the sear spring and see how that goes.

Hard to see, but I've got a button head screw in the pin hole, not the grip frame screw.

I'll see if I can find some screws to tinker with...or maybe print a plate with different geometry 😂.

First things first, since there seems to be confusion; that is in fact a 97+ spec trigger plate. In this case, the plate is clearly not the issue. An earlier spec plate will fit a 97+ spec frame, not so with the reverse. The ramp geometry is the same between the two, only difference is frame fitment.

I'm guessing the sear isn't installed in the frame properly. You have two pics of it in the frame, one with the trigger pulled and one with the trigger forward. It doesn't appear that the sear has moved at all. Maybe that's just from the camera angle, but that's my guess. Especially if you're using a screw instead of a pin.

Also, the sear spring won't make a difference here. Either something is out of spec (and it doesn't appear to be) or it's not installed right.

Also are you're just assuming that that frame is actually 100% complete cad wise?

I have the same file I could take a look but it's possible he didn't complete the internal cuts.

Unfortunately the project took a back seat. I think the sear geometry might be off, but just haven't had a chance to get around to it.
