    Autococker Tune Up

    Greetings,

Just joining the forum. Figured I would say hi.
I have two Autococker I used to play with 20 some years ago. a red 2k3 and an Outkast with an E blade. The Outkast still works and just shipped it out to CockerTop for the tune up. Are there really so few people to work on these that we need to send them across the country.

Skirmish is a local field here in North Eastern Pennsylvania. They have a big event Invasion of Normandy (ION). Do events like these draw out many old school cockers?

I have been trying to get my name out there as a tech. My prices reflect my lack of customer history. I 100% will say that Bearded Works is a better tech with more experience.

I can provide examples of my personal projects

          Welcome to the forum!

If you can describe any issues your markers are having it’s likely we could talk you through getting them fixed up yourself if you’d like.

I still frequently see autocockers at my local big games. But they’re not really commonly available new like they were back in the 2000s, and there are a ton of different markers available new now, so it doesn’t strike me as unusual that we don’t see tons of autocockers any more.

Edit: There are also some very useful videos out there about how to rebuild WGP regulators and pneumatics.

To answer your original question, somewhat. Cockers died in popularity around 2010 and didn't come back until empire released the resurrection. Even now it's fading again so most of the techs (and most people on MCB) have been playing since before that. That's a shrinking pool that already started small

Not my video, but here is a really well done video on how to rebuild a WGP regulator:

Dang, wish you would have posted here before sending it all the way out to him. While he's been around and has a reputation, without badmouthing, I would recommend others over Cocker Top.

I tech can tech some cockers for you reasonably fast. Been doing it since 1991
You can see my collection of cockers on the collectors page. All sorts.

In my experience, it seems that markers with more nostalgia are more likely to come out during recreational play and big games. I see autocockers almost every time i play rec ball (two at the last mech 3 man tournament) and actually see less mags than autocockers.
