    Valve, Hammer, Springs Question

    Hows it going all,

After going through my ID Twister a few weeks back, I identified a few things I may want to change for the sake of something to do.

I would like to either change the valve to a Laz or AKA.

I have a the ID hammer installed, and a ST Phat hammer collecting dust.

Question: Do any of you have spring recommendations for either of those valves with either one of those hammers? I have a full set of Fire springs on hand and a full set of ID springs.

    Thank you as always.

I think the general knowledge on that, someone correct me if I am wrong. Is a medium spring for the valve and the lightest spring for the hammer that still works and gets velocity. Too light for the valve and she leaks, too light for the hammer and she don’t open. Too heavy and it is a rough pump stroke. I would go with the phat hammer. The valve you have is probably fine, but switch it if you want.

After extensive testing I cannot recommend the Dye Lazarus valve. I've had good luck with both the AKA Tornado valve and Shocktech Phat Rat.

You running a pump or an AC? What valve is in it now?

Tough to beat the AKA valve. It is top notch.
Need Inception Designs or Shocktech Products? Let me know!

ChuckLove I have read and heard a few bad stories and a few good. It has been overwhelmingly the pump crowd that have positive feedback on the Laz. I put a Phat Rat in my last build and its great. But the tinker side of me just wants to try something new.

Hellion360 It has the stock valve so the ID high flow version who knows. The Predator I lucked up from you is the smoothest softest shooting autococker I have so I gravitate more towards the AKA. It is a cocker. Im a Phantom purest when it comes to pump play.

JohnB you are correct as j know it as well. I played a hard game springing the Phat Rat with ID hammer. I went through quite a few combos before I achieved a decent velocity. It got a little old taking the valve in and out so many times...looking for a good starting point is all.

Why don't you like the Laz valve? I love my morph valve, which is similar. Took forever to get it running properly, but it's great once it's working.

I had issue with intermittent leaking. Ultimate, I didn't feel it had any real benefits over a traditional style valve. I was able to achieve similar results with a traditional valve as well.

Thanks for the input. Im going to go with an AKA valve.

If anyone still had a spring or hammer combo for that I would bend an ear. So you dont have to scroll up I have ID and Fire springs w/ ID and Phat hammer. Would a Jenny Craig be viable?

As I understand it, AKA valves are pretty picky with hammers and springs. I've always recommended defaulting to the AKA hammer and spring kit, but I imagine others (especially Hellion) would be able to say more.I will say, the AKA hammer weighs 32 grams, which is not an uncommon weight. They also have a heavier valve spring than normal.

A Jenny Craig hammer would be waaay too light. Would not recommend.

I would go with the full AKA lower tube kit, atleast the valve and spring combo. I am running the dye valve and jenny craig combo in my inception full body hornet and have had no issues with leaking. It's extremely quiet and incredibly soft on paint due to the very low pressure needed to cycle the marker. The inception setup is noting to pass over as well. It's very reliable and known for being efficient.

Thanks, I am doing it out of boredom. I actually pulled the trigger this weekend. AkA valve and spring. ST coned lug.

I did some disassembly of the front end today in order to install a ST LPC. It measured .568 while the ID Banjo measured at .556 (measured at threads). It wouldnt fit through the front block. I went ahead and ordered a ID volumiser just cause.

Hopefully mail comes in to give me something to do Friday night.
