Eblade/E2 button pads. Which type looks better to you?

Made some urethane button pads for the eblade/E2. Always hated having to dig my fingers into the frame with gloves on to try and activate the buttons. With these button presses are effortless and feel really nice. I prefer the smaller of the two without the island. Which one looks better in your opinion?

probably #3 where it's just the circles, though personally I like the original buttons

Looks wise, yes, the original buttons are ok. I just hate digging in there to get to them. IDK, maybe i just have fat fingers 😂, but I prefer the feel with buttons.

Interesting. I like number three being minimal. Are you worried about accidental presses?

#3 is my vote also. I'm not worried about accidental actuation moreso than any other keypad. I revised #3 by a hair more than you see in the picture to sit a bit more true to the frame to avoid this as well. none of the buttons can be activated when I squeeze the frame or when I'm holding on with pressure and twisting my hands but can be done so easily if you choose to.

How about making something similar to what I had on my old eblade E2

I can definitely do it as long as i got some some larger head on pictures of the frame and buttons. I actually didn't realize that the E2 had a different shaped button at the top until someone pointed it out because photos of the back of the frame seem to be sparse and I've never owned an E2.

Yes the E2 frame is milled out near the top button and the rear screen in more centered. The whole pad just stuck on to the frame like a sticker and covered the buttons and the screen.

Food for thought, have you considered grabbing an 08 ego frame off the bay and using it as a donor for the button pad?I see some on there for like $30. A bit pricey but it looks to be a solution. They look like the same one in your picture. I could try and make them, but without a physical frame it's going to be almost impossible.

Nice it looks like it would work on a E2 frame. But I have a E1 frame now. I’m installing a morlock saber with rear screen which is made to fit the E1.

I like the minimal look of #3 but I have to imagine that the other designs are easier to manufacture and stick on.

Believe it or not #3 is easier as the others have the same underlying design and a skirt around it. Attachment with #3 is pretty straightforward as well as it's the same adhesive.

I say 3 .I can see the skirt catching something and ripping off on the other ones

Yea, that's my choice also. I have some adhesive on the way that i'll be able to test out how strong the hold is, but i don't think it would be an issue. Then i'll release them for people.
      Working...
