More info on this WGP. Early STO?

Chatting with a gentleman about this very cool sniper. Not sure if it's a custom mill and re ano or an early STO. The lack of sight rail in front of the feedneck and the P block are cool. Body was properly cut for the old style auto trigger, and clearly re-anodized, I wouldn't think any bodies would come from the factory like that. Nifty early "Hitman" mod. Also has threaded IVG.

Hinge frame modified with an early auto trigger lever. Also notice the reg has an AKA adjuster.

He said the rumor is that this was built and owned by Dave "Opie" Thomas.

Edit" the 51xxx serial puts this at 1998

I can't clearly see the serial number on this one. That would help me. If it's a 5 then it's not early, not by a long shot. If it's a 2 then it fits the time period. It really looks like a vert feed featherlight. For comparison, Rocky Cagnoni's STO that I had had a serial number of 21xxx or 22xxx. It was a vert feed featherlight body that was pre-STO. There were horizontal lines milled on both sides of the body but no "STO" lettering.

    Not an sto.

    Just a p blocked pre 2k slab.

The pblock could be factory could be aftermarket, wgp did offer some custom options way back when

Check to see if the p cut is raw, if it isn't that could be indicative of being a wgp body.

i doubt its an sto, likely a custom job judging by the at milling. or could possibly be a vf featherlite

Wish I could handle it before deciding to buy. It's super cool (looking) and he said it airs up without leaks and shoots. But hard to know what else it might need

I'd probably risk it. Worst case, it ends up in the MCB ecosystem.

RAZRBAKK I'm a slide frame fan mostly, so not sure how rough an ancient Sniper hinge frame will feel lol, but we'll see...it checks all the boxes for old skool cool

Just here to say that the autotrigger set up looks an awful lot like a Brad Nestle set up. The pump handle too.

That is an original wgp pump or an early gaT pump

Excellent. How early are we talking? like, mid 90s?

              For wgp 98 or lower.
