I think I remember reading somewhere forever ago that you "should" use a stainless ball detent with a delrin bolt and a delrin ball detent with a metal bolt.
Honestly never had a problem with either and my cockers are about as punishing as it gets. And one of my cockers alone has over 300,000 shots through it without issue as an R/T.
