    R7 and Fragile Paint

I tried to use my R7 today and when it shot, it shot great (surprisingly barely under 280 with a silver main spring). The problem was in game it chopped almost every shot.
I was shooting Valken Pro which has been pretty fragile but it's been shooting alright out of my Phantom. I have been using it with a stock barrel and ASP detents which may be a little more gentle. The paint fit great in the (I believe) .678 barrel that the gun came with.

Is there anything to help with fragile paint? Can you run a Phantom TPC to help diffuse the shot a bit, or will that ruin my velocity?

    You nailed it.

Get rid of the stock TPC. The open face is way to rough on paint.

Wrap a phantom TPC in Teflon tape and never worry again.

Does the teflon tape do anything other than help it stay in place, or is it to take up a small difference in thread size? I've got an extra new style TPC with an o-ring on it if that makes a difference?

Just helps hold it in place. I prefer Teflon only because its easier.
