Is the factory asa the same as the standard aftermarket asa dovetail? One of the guys I play with messed his up by smashing it during a dive. It didn't fit onto a shocktech drop forward i had in my toolbox and wasn't sure if that's because he smooshed it or of its just different.

I have a dove tail CP mounted on my modded 2011 Kaos pump.
AGD 68 Automag, AGD ULE 68 Automag, Azodin Kaos Pump II, PE EMEK pal, Tippmann SL68II gen2, Umarex TR50. -
I tried mounting a dovetail asa to the stock frame from a 2011 KP and it wouldn't fit. I'm not sure whether it was due to the actual dimensions of the rail or the powdercoat messing with the tolerances.Comment

The problem with the dovetail "spec" is that there it not one. When I had my KPC I had to mount a rail to the bottom to get an alternate ASA attached.Comment

Indeed. Azodin is one of those companies that has a slightly off dovetail. You might be able to use an aftermarket ASA if you file down the dovetail on the marker, but that's a lot of work and it won't look nice when you're done. It will be easier to just buy a replacement ASA.View my feedback or read about my Virginia woodsball club.
