Force fed loader on a Kaos?

When I eventually get back on the field, I wanted to use my Kaos. The only loaders I have are a Vlocity jr and a gravity fed hopper. Will the Vlocity jr cause chopping? Or would it better if I picked up a Revy or Speedster?

It’s been a while but don’t velocity jrs have adjustable tension? If so turn and down and you’ll be fine, though I think you’ll be fine even without. Make sure your detents are good

Regular Vlocitys have adjustable tension. Not Jrs. I might get some medium and hard detents to try out.

The hard detents will slice the paintballs. Don’t bother with them.

Azodin's are rough on paint - ball stack clipping is really bad with the primary cause being rollback. They also shoot the ball into the barrel rather than chamber the ball in the barrel and then fire the air pulse at the end of the bolt stroke. I've tried custom bolts with different leading edge chamfers and overall lengths to prevent rollback. Neither helped much. The stock detents are pretty soft, so balls can roll forward too, again causing bolt stack clipping.

The best solution is medium hardness Spyder detents, a non-forcefeed loader as you mentioned, and field grade paint.

I went so far as to mill the face of the body back a bit, bore the minor diameter of the barrel threads deeper, and tap the threads deeper, so the ball chambers in the barrel before being hit with the air pulse. This helped a bit too.

My results are from a KDII and KDIII. I've talked about it in various posts. Here's one I found quickly with some pictures showing the milled front. https://mcarterbrown.com/forum/custo...zodin-kd3-pump

Looking into some detents and a Speedster loader now. Thanks.

Do you think a TechT Hush bolt, with its radial ramping face, would help with chopping? Or is this all hype?

I want to apologize for my first post. I was in a rush, and didn’t proofread with my @$$hole filter. It had the info I wanted to convey but did so abrasively. Sorry.

Use what you have, have fun, and adjust from there. The medium Spyder detents will help with roll-forward. You can try only using one detent too if you think two are being too rough/constricting on the paint. A non-forcefeed loader will help. Use field grade paint, maybe mid-grade if it’s a bit on the tougher side.

I wouldn’t buy an aftermarket bolt. None of the different lengths to prevent rollback or chamfers (ramp) to prevent ball stack clipping helped much.

I gave that KDIII to a friend after converting it back to semi. He still uses it with a Revy and medium detents. It does fine with field grade, and he gets a break or two per bag of paint with mid-grade.

      Have fun out there!

No apology necessary. I don't think you were abrasive at all. Thanks for the feedback.
