Bob Long Signature Series Autococker positive ID/info?

I picked up this beauty a while back, looks like a BLSS to me, though i have not seen many examples and none with a reverse p block/eclipse? style block.

Ideally id match it with a proper BLSS frame and anno matched barrel(ive seen one or two), as it may just end up on the keepers list as its one of if not the the rarest classic cockers in my collection.

Any info on this marker would be appreciated as Id like to archive it properly and potentially list it. I restored the besales/evo style block, aka evo bolt or bl bolt, and swapped a wgp slider frame, and have kept all the "original" parts. Thanks!

Thats legit. As you said it is missing a frame. The back block would have matched, been a full chonky block, and include the special birdcage cocking rod cover.

They didnt have matching barrels. They came with Bob Long "Long Shot" barrels.

      Great find!

What you have there is definitely a Series 2000 Bob Long Signature Series. As you've figured out, it's not in its original form. These markers did not come with a P block, so what you have here appears to have been milled down after the fact. Instead, they came with a rectangular back block with a birdcage covering the cocking rod. Even if you were to locate an original back block, the milling is already done. So, it will never be 100% original again. It's still a nice marker though. For reference, here's mine before and after a restomod project I took on a while back (I still use the cover on mine from time to time).

Interesting. I had never seen one before. That will make finding a replacement that much more difficult.

I suppose an easy way to tell if the P-block is stock or not would be to check for raw aluminum. If the back is anodized, it's probably factory.

Did yours come with that birdcage cocking rod cover? I've been searching around for one and seems like they basically don't exist any more.

Yes, the birdcage is original. I know someone here had a batch of new ones milled a number of years back, but I can’t remember who.
