ID:	758398 Hey guys I m new here. Been out of paintball for like 25 years and due to my dad passing a year ago and cleaning out the basement boxes in my new house, I’ve wanted to start getting into the awesome retro markers I have or wanted to have in the 90s and 200s. In what I think was 200 I had worked for three summers to save for a bob long defiant. My dad had and account with national paintball supply? And got the gen 1 intimidator with my savings instead. My father was incredibly mechanically inclined but it took hours for him, the local paintball shop (paintball Atlanta) to get it working. The dual regulators with no gauges and mostly the anti chop eye we didn’t know about were the main culprits but we got it going. Never got the chance to actually play with it though once life went south.

Really want to get it running for nostalgia sakes. I was looking for advice on where to start and what to look for. Obviously all orings need to go. I’m pretty mechanically inclined but not an expert. Any advice on tuning the front regs, replacement parts, possible solenoid replacement for its age even with little use, known problems, board work, etc

Thank yall so much in advance. There is a ton of Timmy info out there but not so much on the gen 1. Any help is appreciated

1: Back out both regs or Zero out both the LPR and HPR to 0psi
2: Raise HPR slightly only to set LPR for cycling
3: Raise LPR to fully cycling ~45psi or so
4: Raise HPR until velocity begins to stop rising as you increase pressure
5: Raise LPR to desired velocity
6: Lower HPR a bit, then raise if necessary... you're trying to find the best HPR setting at the LPR setting you have. This may put your velocity over 300/285
7: Lower LPR slightly to field velocity

That’s the “Lurker” method of tuning the regs.

Fivestarpbtech sells new solenoids or you can roll the dice with a used one from ebay. FloryPB on ebay sells a board that can modernize the firing modes and rate of fire. Fittings and lp tube can be bought from 187pb, fivestarpbtech, airsoldier or in bulk straight from beswick or pneumadyne(or amazon).
