This will probably be a long term project, so I won't be doing a lot with this right away. But I wanted to post to help me keep track of my thoughts. And you guys always have good feedback.
I've had a Rainmaker now for awhile, that I get out and mess with a little here and there. It's still not currently shooting because of the missing spring i mentioned in another thread (need to just get it apart again and throw in a spring I've got lying around and test).
My plan is to add some pneumatics to accomplish two goals:
1) Make it Mech!
2) Add a Train horn!
Making it mech shouldn't be hard, i've seen plenty of examples of basically just adding a cocker 3-way, or a SMAV-3, and using that to cycle the Ram. I'm kinda balking at the SMAV-3 prices (though $45 isn't really that much in the long run), so I'm also looking at MAV-3 valves because I can get them cheaper on ebay. Another reason I'm thinking of going with the MAV-3 is that I can add a Pneumatic actuator to those, and operate with pilot air, which helps me a bit with goal number 2.
I made a graphic to help organise my thoughts, which should mostly speak for itself.
Working on collecting various fittings etc. right now, and when I have some spare funds from selling a few things, i'll buy the valves and actuators. Still not sure how I want it all to sit on the gun itself, might move one of the LPRs to the front off of a vert foregrip. The trigger MAV-3 will go in the grip frame, or I might switch that one to a SMAV-3 afterall. I want it to look gawdy, heavy, obnoxious, lots of brass. The train whistle will probably end up being 3D printed so I can design the whistles into the bolt cover or mount to the rails under the feedneck or something.
