Long lost custom tequila sunrise halfblock Earon made for me in 2009 or so. Unfortunately it was stolen during shipping. I would do anything to find her again.

How has that never turned up that’s a unique marker should stand out like a sore thumb. That’s a great color. I have seen one like that but it’s the same color as my Duck above.

No idea, it was stolen out of the mail, and a tent was replaced in the box where it should've been. The color was called "tequila sunrise". Earon and I worked on this back and forth over the phone for the better part of a year back in... 09 I think? It was awesome getting to know the man and a huge blow when it just disappeared via mail theft. Likely the person who stole it has no idea what in the world they were holding or its significance. Earon didn't do many in this specific color. This one was definitely special.

The story behind the marker was pretty simple, I saw a picture in an old thread with a bunch of Carters out on a table. There was an orange one that just popped, between that color and the basic design of one of the halfblocked markers on a Dye 45 we married them into this beauty.

Earon and I started chatting on the phone when I was just a dumb kid and kind of became buddies. We would talk about everything, he was such an amazing guy and we started talking more and more. Eventually, he offered to work on a marker, I didn't want to ask as I appreciated our talks and didn't want him to think I was just after a custom Carter. I believe he mentioned that there were only 1 or 2 other Tequila Sunrise markers out there and they were both commissioned special for someone. The details are hazy but I remember he got excited when I explained where I got the idea from the design as he remembered the day and place the photo I mentioned was taken. He started working on it at his typical Earon pace, I never bothered him about the build, we would chat and occasionally it would come up but I never cared. It was an honor just to know I could pick up the phone and have a friend halfway around the world who would listen and vice versa.

Eventually, he finished it and it made its way to me. The regulator was bent but I never told him, the plan was to just have it fixed by a local smith as it wasn't too bad. I got a cancer diagnosis and the bills piled up so I sold it to a user named Blacky64 I'd done trades with and was confident in. The agreement was he would hold it until I was back on my feet then send it back. Unfortunately, it was stolen on its way to him, I've never questioned the circumstances and we've kept in touch over the years. I've never seen it surface so yea, that's the story on this one. One of my big regrets.

Decided to change it up a bit for it's final look....Only thing I'll change if I can find them is the grips. If I can find the black version of these particular grips I'll change them to those

can you post a pic with the bottom half of the foregrip removed?
its not necessary for the function of this one, correct?
like how on a normal duckslide the bottom half holds the brass bushing the pump rod threads into

Here you go. No mine it's no longer a standard Duckslide , it has been modified to look and function like that of a true Desert Duck. Technically this could be classed as the world's only vertically fed Carter Desert Duck.... Because as far as I know mine is the only one I've never seen anyone else go through the trouble of having lever release like a Duck made for their marker

Here's the removable barrel Carter Comp that Earon custom made for me in 1996. Was originally supposed to be done in time for the Canadian Stockgun Championships in Edmonton, Alberta that same year (where I was originally supposed to play with the Carter Machine Natural Born Killers), but he wasn't able to finish it in time so he loaned me a blue ano'd Buzzard for the tournament. Love this thing...definitely one of my most prized posessions. The only downside to it is the fact that modern paint is so damn small and Earon bored the barrel to shoot the old Nelson paint that was much larger (it shot bullets with Nelson paint!). Still searching for someone capable and crazy enough to make me a stainless steel barrel that matches the look and fit of the original barrel, but designed for some sort of insert system to adapt to different sized paint. Don't want to bore the original barrel...

If it's been made into Cocker threads you can get any barrel that is currently Freak ready that uses an o-ring to retain the insert to work. I found a way to simulate the barrel bevel Carter's need. Cut your inserts down by about 1/8 of an inch...This allows the insert to sit just far enough forward to prevent issues and the o-ring prevents the insert from pulling out when pumped. I just did this with a DW Fibur barrel and it works great.....If you want to keep using the Stock barrel get a TechT iFit kit for it....Stock barrel would screw right onto it and you can continue using it https://www.techtpaintball.com/ifit_pr-3211.aspx

Chaos, yeah I WISH it had Cocker threads. Unfortunately the earlier removable barrel Carter Comps (not sure about the later Carter Comps) didn't use Cocker threads. Didn't even use TASO threads like some of the earlier Buzzards. Looks similar to the TASO threads, but has a smaller OD. Have heard that they are unique to the Comp, which makes things a bit more difficult...

Maybe send it to DocsMachine or BMC Fabrication and have them rethread it for Cocker threads or maybe have them make a cocker threaded body snub for it
        Working...
