I am finally getting back into paintball after a long hiatus... and I now have expendable income and was so excited to get a Apocalypse DualPheed for my phantom, only to find out they were no longer around. The CCI one isn't my cup of tea (I really wanted the dualpheed system and the weighted lever mechanism (no knob to turn/extra step to reload).
Stumbling upon your awesome work here made my day! Can't wait to pick one of these up when the next batch goes out. Thanks for putting in all this effort!Old Feedback (Original MCB):

Major, majorly late update 😅
I'm just about done with the next batch!
Let's call it Gen2 ...
Same spring, but the feed tube is a bit longer in the front which should help with overfeed when the it fully loaded.
The current batch has 4 phoenix feed (one is for my personal phantom 😋) and about half dozen regular ones.
Hoping to have them finalized in the next few weeks, as always I'll post here and make a thread in the BST when they're ready.
Also, the search for making The Perfect spring is still in process ... But it will not be ready for this batch.Love my brass ... Love my SSR ... Hard choices ...

Here is my build thread:
Hello MCB, Always loved the Phoenix, always love when someone make something cool and makes it available ... So, I go a hold of one the last remaining "new" Phoenix kit and decided to make it my dream setup 😎 I got most of the parts here (the guts are in the part bin): - Thanks to @haveblue for the second milled

No unfortunately they do not. It was made by a company called Gearhead paintball
-
The person who made them sold the last 2 he had on hand to NONOBLITUS and I. He also just sold his personal phoenix.
Took me ~15 years to get one ... I started a 3D printed kit before I got my hand on mine, might actually finish that project one day ...

Ok, so the first testing with what im now calling Gen2 are going well; still need a few tweaks before its read.
For everyone who already have a Gen1, I have a few ideas on "retrofit kit". Once Gen2 is up and running, ill implement them.Love my brass ... Love my SSR ... Hard choices ...

Gen 2 feed block is out and doesn't make much of a difference, but the new flippy gate totally solve the jam on full spring load.
So I'll move forward with the current batch of Gen2.
For everyone who currently have a Gen1, the kit will likely including a new gate, spring and barrel clamp/front cap. I still need to confirm and design a few things. I will post the details here when they're ready.Love my brass ... Love my SSR ... Hard choices ...

Since you have experience with it, what type of inserts do you use, heat set or tap in? Can you self tap right into the 3d print?

I have used both ,,, also force the thread straight into the 3D print ...
Here is my experience with the 3 techniques:
- Force the thread straight into the print: woks surprisingly well quick and easy
- tap teh plastic: by far the worse, remove too much material IMO
- heat set inserts: by far teh best, but more expensive. can screw and un-screw at will, and get better pull force than threaded directly into teh plastic because of the larger OD. But its easy to screw up ... too hot and you melt everything and set them sideway. You need adjustable soldering iron and some od crap tip as the plastic is gonna contaminate the tip and make them unusable for proper soldering.
Hope this helps 😁

Big update everyone!
I finally have a the updated gate i like (after way way too many test)
It feed well and the last ball doesn't get stuck in there!.
Also, the feed are updated to help prevent double feed when fully loaded.
So this is officially Gen2 🥳
If this change works the way im expecting it to, i will make an upgrade kit for people who already have a feed.
Im assembling the feed, hoping to have them ready to go sometime next week.
Also, there *may* be an time opportunity for a few double feed (phoenix) feed.
I am not going to make extras of these, so shoot me a PM if you're interested.Love my brass ... Love my SSR ... Hard choices ...

Long time without update ... had a few things getting in the way (life 😒) but im back at it 👍
I found a better way to smooth out the carbon fiber, so ill go back through all the tube one more time (I didn't like the roughness after sanding them with sandpaper).
Also, calling it gen 2 motivated me to improve the follower too ...
Everything is finally where I want it and I feel comfortable to re-release the feeds.
So, Gen2 update:
- Longer body and spring
- New gate design
- New follower
there will be an "upgrade kit" to bring all Gen1 to Gen 1.5. I will get the extension modeled after I'm done with the first batch of Gen2
It will include:
- 3D printed tube extension / barrel clamp
- Longer spring
- New gate
- New followerLove my brass ... Love my SSR ... Hard choices ...
