Phantom revolution??

I recall about 10 years ago CCI was talking about a new Phantom revolution marker. Never released?

Sure was. Pretty sure i was discontinued prior to the company changing hands. I'm sure you will get responses from members here about them. They were pretty neat but always seemed more of a novelty for CCI fans to me.

It was released but they didn't make too many. They can be hard on paint and are odd ducks. Bacci has a couple videos about it:

Biggest issue were roll out issues that were difficult to solve due to design. Many drilled detents into the side of them like cocker or Spider style. They were a bit finicky as well. Pricey by CCI’s old standards so they did not sell well. I feel like Mike really didn’t get a chance to fine tune them. There were improvements made on them by users. But a lot of info wasn’t available on them due to sales being low and issues listed above. Mike had a blow out price on them that I seriously should have jumped on just to have one in my collection. They are pretty rare and sell fairly cheap. But now with piece by piece prices rising on CCI parts the value has gone up a lil because people are buying them for the attachments that fit regular phantoms.

People saw the phantom as a much better more reliable platform at a much cheaper price. So the Revolution as well as it’s innovation fell to the side.

If I could find that that red and black acid wash one that matches the phantom I built for my son I would probably buy it. I know someone here has it I forget who. But a MCB member owns a really nice decked out version of the Revolution. They are cool to shoot super light weight pump stroke. But they are loud especially if you forget to pump a ball In and not super efficient. Unlike the Phantom. The trigger is not attached to the pump so it will dry fire like a semi. You can easily pump it with one finger and they have a specific attachment for it. You basically are just moving the bolt with a return spring. The valve is setup like a semi auto. I always wanted to get my hand on a valve setup to see if I could use the Valve to build a semi version of one.

I built something very, very similar in college (but far less elegant - almost an inch longer). An automag style bolt works really well. I coiled my own spring on a lathe and made a Delrin bolt and it was a beast, but would do a funny little "chirp" on dry fires instead of a "bang", and was very sensitive to ball position in the breech so it really still required a sized bore like a pump.
Looking over the Revolution design, all the same quirks are likely, but it's a pretty fun idea. I'd absolutely pick up a black or red Revo.

Yeah Dave has a blue and purple one iirc. Still got it, just didn’t pull it out this year because the kgb and lever compete for daily driver

Mike only released about 150 of them. I Enjoy mine, but it is finicky compared to the original phantom. Velocity adjustment is based on oring addition/removal on the power piston, with fine tuning on the rear spring dialer. Double feeds are the primary issue that made them unusable for most people. Without a rock back stick feed, or the addition of cocker detents, they feed two balls, the first is held firmly in the middle of the sizer ring, the second blasts into it sending soup down range. But if you take the time to set it up, choose an anti-double feed solution, and give it plenty of lube regularly it will treat you just fine
