Ok ran into an issue not sure what's up. Trying to put a freak bored new barrel (from phantom site) on an older (I assume) phantom body. It won't even go into the body so the threads touch. Is this just a thing with new/old barrels/bodies? Anyone have a fix like can I lightly sand the pre thread area on the body? Is that sacrilege?

okay mike change the treading on gun and barrel so we have two different types of threading for phantoms and barrels. i own two different bored out barrels and two different phantoms made over years one from early 1990's can only use one barrels made from back then for freaks. the newer phantom can only use one new barrels bored out for freaks. so get right barrel for gung going to chore in know what threading barrel is.

I saw a comment somewhere that there was an old batch of bodies that were more narrow. I know it has the same threads. I just can't get the barrel even into the body.Comment

he did make make changes over years i have one barrel that will not screw into other body. but will screw in to first phantom. when i use new barrel on old body does screw in right since made for new body too.

Sucks, dude. Can you measure the original barrel to see how much of a difference there is between the Major Diameter (D) and the root of the threads (D1) on both barrels?

mike change the threading. so unless you know which threading is for that phantom going to hard. most people do not know mike made changes to threading over years so phantom can use freak bore barrels. we need picture of both barrels also what year that gun was made. i have prof that i have barrel that will work on only one phantom not other.
