Unibody Phantoms

Any reason to not pick one of these up for cheap? Fixed barrel and the powertube is a little different, anything else I should know? Can I swap the body for a modern one?

Fixed barrel, so you're stuck with whatever bore size that is. ASP can detent mod them still. Can't swap the body since it's attached to the barrel, so sure you can keep the old trigger/grip frames and slap them on a modern body with removable barrel.

Cool so pretty much what I thought then. Found a cheap one in a pile on craigslist, and have a spare body and barrel I figure I can toss on.

It will have the old style internals without a non kinking bolt. Stiffer pump action but will work.

I once tried to slap a modern body on mine while the uni was off getting the ASP detent mod and it did NOT fit so I wouldn't assume you can swap.

I did replace the valve train with a modern set for the anti-kink, while saving all the old parts.

This is just an opinion--you can do with your property as you please, of course--but IMHO the unibodies should be preserved as historical pieces rather than parted
