CCM SR1 Prototype #3 Hard Anodized

My CCM SR1, I originally had gotten this beast back in 2016 and owned it for 5 years or so, but had to sell it when I was moving away. A few months ago I saw it posted for sale and ended up trading one of my mag builds I hadn't used in awhile for her and luckily she came with the really hard parts to potentially replace again. Will hopefully get her back on the field soon.

At the risk of sounding dumb, where's the asa/12 gram charger?

I see, that's a really sleek design. I was under the impression the magwell and magazine were functional, so now I have to ask, where's the feed?

Its actually breach feed via an aluminum shell thats bore sized for paint, load the shell in the breach, rack the bolt forward, a breach sealing o ring on the bolt seals with the shell, fire and when re racking the bolt, a ball bearing acts as an ejector and the shell kicks out of the breach and you can load a new shell in. Only holds 1 shot at a time, very satisfying when you make a long range shot with first strikes, I've hit guys at over a 100 yards with this thing. There is also a lock down screw that holds the shell in place so you dont have to reload shells, just breach feed paint which is what I usually do.

That's some truly wild shit, sounds like a really fun and well designed marker.

So is the SSR an evolution of this that takes actual small magazines instead of the faux shells?

yeah, 2500 is very high for a ssr, even for ebay, with the amount of mags that one has, I could see 1500 tops, The SR1 I have no I have about 750 into it, and I had sold it 2 years ago for 1600, its definitely a fringe setup that doesn't appeal to everyone.

Well, it does say they're accepting offers on it, so might be worth a short offering $1500. hehe. How much did they sell for new?

Also, does CCM ever actually make any more of the magazines? They're still listed on their website, but of course out of stock currently, and we all know what their restock turnarounds are like for other parts. 10 seems like a decent number to start with, but I have no idea how many it's possible to go through in a single game.

they were 575 new, but that was just for the receiver portion, meanining: no barrel, scope, shock/buffer tube, grip, or shroud. It did come with 1 mag though and additional mags were 30 each I think. I bought one at the time and cheaped out on the furniture bits and had 750 into mine when I was done, still have it, just doesn't get much use.
You can still get mags, its just you gotta ask, I messaged bill for some mags on facebook and ordered 3 a couple years ago.
As far as paint consumption, you can easily go through that much paint during a big game, With my SR1, I think I blew through 50 fsrs during a game at emr when I had a perfect position overlooking most of the field.

Does this take any M16 grips?

    Very interesting marker!

Yes, pretty much most ar15 compatible parts will fit with this platform, same goes for the SSR
