What is this small hole in the grip frame for?

On this CCM grip frame, there is a small hole drilled through the top into the side opening for the A/T cam. I've tried to take pics showing this. It's not for a retaining pin because it lines up with the center of the cam opening. I measured the size of it using an allen key, and it's approx. 5/64" in diameter. The small hole seems to match up with the groove in the A/T cam (also pictured). I'm not certain, but it also looks like this hole was drilled _after_ the frame had already been anodized.

When I took the gun apart, nothing fell out of here, so I'm not sure what it's for. The only thing I can think is that it seems to be intended for a ball bearing with a spring behind it, acting as a retention mechanism for the A/T cam? The other two CCM grip frames I have don't have this on them (albeit they are both newer style frames with the retention pins). Any ideas appreciated.

Holds the AT cam in the frame. They have a tendency to get stuck with paint in the frame.

They hold the AT for non Shoulder screw markers. (The newer markers with just a pin)

The little tiny hole through the top? I wasn't talking about the one through the side of the frame that the cam slots into. I'm trying to figure out what the little tiny one going from the top down into that opening is for

Yes it drops in from the top held in place by the body.

One piece S6 probably uses a shoulder screw to attach the AT to the pump arm. But that looks like a newer style frame. Probably not original. So you probably don’t need the pin as it’s held by the shoulder screw in the pump arm.

    like this.

Yeah the tiny hole is for a pin which keeps the cam in place

It's definitely not a newer frame, since it looks just like yours in that pic Chuck E Ducky It has the old style screwed in trigger retainer, set screw to hold in the sear pin, and has the long sear spring. I have two of the newer ones that use the retaining pins with a short sear spring in them.

If that's the case then, where do I find a new piece to go in that hole to hold the cam in place? CCM doesn't seem to list anything like that (just the newer pin sets). Unless what you were saying is that the pump rod shoulder screw holds it in?

This was the gun in its original condition before I took it apart to clean it up/restore it.

Correct the shoulder screw keeps it in place. That hole in the frame takes a pin that holds the AT cam in place so you can use the other style pump arm lug. I didn’t think they started to offer that until the later in production.

Does the hole extend further down past the cam hole? Maybe it was modded for a ball and spring setup. I think some of the early ones after the original s6 frames had that briefly.

No it doesn’t. Just through the top portion

My guess, it's for a ball and spring to hold a safety
