Any mods to make the 12g lever piercer more reliable?

I have a DSG (gen3? gen6?) that has an adjustable lever 12g piercer and I remember it being a total nightmare getting it positioned correctly. Have there been any reliable solutions concocted since?

    dukie any suggestions?

I mean, I don't have one, but I would recommend just using a spent 12 gram and use that as the testing piece and adjust it until it feels snug and then use a full one to see how you did. But maybe let someone that owns one speak up on how they do it.

it's hard because you can easily choke it from letting air escape enough, or fail to seal and it hisses out the whole time, and that margin of error is very small and you can't really gauge it off a spent 12ie (or i suck, which I admit)

Round piece with a screw sticking out more or less... Not anything aesthetic. Just functional.

Yeah spent 12g of the same variety is how I set them. A new assembly with an internal spring would do it too. They were derived from the sidekick semi. Thats what I started out with but they ran out. New one is the same but easier for me to make.

Does it ever run into the issue of going too far into the 12g and plugging it? For me, it's a battle of backing out enough vs too much for full flow
