So, TL, dr - Got a shot at an "always wanted, never could afford" old bone stock matrix. How terrible are they to tech? I'd be paying for shipping on it, and I have a few local pro shops, and, well, y'all. I have been reading through the stickies and looking at old information I can dig up.

The bolt has a lot of pieces and orings, but it's manageable. For $50 + shipping it appears to be plenty worth it. -

Pretty much the same stuff as the Dye version aside from a couple of things. The connectors on the wiring harness are different to the solenoid/battery along with being a "slide switch" board. And the vert asa adapter hole is 1/8npt rather than straight threads (3/8-24 I want to say).
But that really only matters if you care to change those things.

Weird, my Matrix is older (SN 1043) but my board doesn't have a slide switch and the frame isn't marked for switch positions.Comment

I actually think those old ones that didn't have the vertical ASA were a straight thread. The one I had seemed to have straight threads and sealed by a small nylon washer that sandwiched between the beehive reg and the body. I couldn't swear to it but the threads didn't seem tapered at all and they certainly didn't get tighter as they went in.
