Looking for some recommendations. I am coming back from a 20 yr hiatus and have a DM6 I am looking to restore. Full tune up is needed + board replacement and maybe more. If you were in my shoes, what would you do/replace to bring it back to life?

Sell it for parts and buy an emek. If the board is bad a maybe more. I would be looking for something else. -
they're really pretty straightforward to tech. Older models still have urethane (clear) orings that long ago turned to goo
- change the 007s in the center of HPR, LPR - this is the hardest part
- change any UR orings in the bolt
- clean it, lube it, it'll probably be ready to roll. With that board.
It's not restoration it's just overdue maintenance. No big deal.Comment

Has nostalgic value I'm sure but there's lighter, easier to maintain, more reliable modern options. I'd personally not mess with that and like mentioned get an Emek, but I also understand wanting to use something older and more unique (which is why MCB exists lol)Comment

It’s about 70-100 for a new board. They are great shooters if you know how to set them up. Fitting orings is key thin the Dow 33 down with some oil to get them to shoot in lower temps. Less is more when it comes to grease.Comment

The dm6 is an outstanding marker. They were the last marker that Dye made in the US. Everything DM7 and later came from Taiwan. They are very light, reliable, and have stupid 10 bps capability with the stock board. Why would you shoot this over an Emek? Because you're not a 15 year old kid with a christmas present from your parents. If you're interested, I can rebuild everything on the marker for free if you pay for return shipping. Modern matrixes like the 6 take all of 40 minutes to completely rebuild, including cutting new reg seats.Comment
