    PM6 Hyper2 Reg Leak - What’s Left to Check?

My PM6 had been sitting for 7 or 8 years. I recently took it out with the goal of getting it back up and running. I’m admittedly not a paintball tech, so I did a lot of reading/video watching and rewatching.

I replaced all the o-rings (using dow 33 where applicable), replaced the reg seat, replaced the pneumatic elbows and macroline.

When all was said and done I was left with a leak from the bottom of the reg. I’ve narrowed it down to the bottom of the swivel/retaining cap area. I’ll note that it’s not a huge leak, it will still shoot, seemingly at an expected velocity (based on eye test, I don’t have a chrono).

    What I’ve tried:
    1. Replaced reg seat
    2. Replaced eblows for macroline (with teflon tape)
    3. Checked 013 Swivel o-rings
    4. Checked shim stack
    5. Rechecked all o-rings in the reg.
    6. Cut new macroline when I got worried the old one wasn’t cleanly cut or old.
    7. Worked the adjustment screw (“seat housing” in the manual) to see if the leak was overpressure bleed.
The only thing that I haven’t done: I used a BN70 o-ring for the small piston o-ring instead of the urethane. I didn’t really think this was the issue because the location doesn’t line up to where I’m feeling the leak.

So, I ask the experts: what’s left to check? Where did I mess up?

It’s either 4 or 7 on the diagram. The small piston oring leaks out the bleed hole and doesn’t need to be urethane.

Bad Reg seat would overpressurize but there’s no bleed on this reg

Thank you. Yeah, I was using that diagram from the manual in the rebuild. I narrowed it down to that area, but I don’t know what else to do but try a different o-ring manufacturer—the rings I put on there are new and don’t appear to have any breaks or dust/dirt that would mess with their effectiveness. Basically everything looks fine but definitely doesn’t sound fine.

If there isn’t physical damage causing the leak, it could be poor tolerances lining up, although that would be rare for an american matrix

Spray some soapy water, see if it is leaking through the swivel or around the adjuster.

You could try dow55 to swell the offending oring some, or maybe find a slightly larger metric oring along with trying a different oring source.

          Yes, soap is next.

I don’t know if it confirm the focus or not, but the reg is able to hold air. After I turn the ASA off, I’m able to fire a shot or two, even after waiting 5-10 seconds.
