I dropped my 170r on the barrel threads, help

As title says. I dented the barrel threads. I was able to bend it back to accept barrels again but the top of the body is scratched pretty bad. Does anyone know if you can buy just a replacement body? Or should I just sand out the scratches and pay to re-anno it?

You could sand those out. Could be just the reason you need to get a nice custom ano.

I would sand it, and get a bottle of Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black for $10.

Thanks for mentioning this. Now I know what to use on the scratched up ASA body of my ex-rental EMEK, not to mention some idiot marks of my own doing on an Automag VASA.

would using this make it hard to get the marker re-annodized in the future?

no, I don't think it is as good as anno as far as hardening/penetrating. It gets rid of idiot marks and scratches like a champ though.
I cut four barrels down today and blacked up the tips. You would have to really look hard to see they have been refinished.
It's not magic, it's cheap. I beat the balls off of my gear, nicks dings gouges and scratches mean I am playing correct, so no big deal.
Some guys use it to make custom looking finishes like case hardening on cowboy guns.
It won't look as good as anno, but I have had the same bottle for 20 years and 2000 scratches, it's still half full

Is it easy to sand off or remove if I want to just get the marker re-annodized?
