Gtek Mech Frame Trigger Pull Adjustability

So I finally came across a Gtek. I don't know why, just really wanted one as my step up from my old beater emek.

The ergonomics are an absolute dream for me, and I kind of like the macro.

Anywho, is there a way to adjust the pull of the trigger? It's so incredibly long and I just wasn't prepared for that experience.

Are there any upgrades to the trigger or valve for the gtek or is it the case of the odd purgatory product that bridged generations?

I think there was a deadly wind valve made for them but that doesn't allow for adjustability. I briefly experimented with making an aluminum trigger plate that would have had some set screws in it. But by the time I got about to the machining they already announced it's replacement.

I remember drilling and tapping a trigger plate to take up the pre travel. deadlywind did make a replacement valve for them.

Hair v2 valve should help a lot. I don’t have the stock valve so I don’t know exactly how dramatically it changes. There should also be two screws in the rear strap of the frame that allow for some adjustment.

The pull length is pretty reminiscent of your typical cocker slide trigger

Does the Hair v2 work with the OG Gtek, though? The list of compatible markers seemed weird and made me feel like they forgot to include the 160/170/180 moniker.

You want the one for the Gmek.

Hang on a moment, let's be clear: Are we talking Gtek (electronic) or Gmek (mechanical frame)?

The Gtek frame has pre and post-travel screws to adjust the trigger pull, like pretty much every electro out there.

The Gmek frame is a bit of an oddity. It's a slider, which is unique among the mech frames for the Gtek line-up. Both the M170R and M180R frames are single finger hinge. There never was an M160R. One of the cool things about it is that the trigger return spring tension is externally adjustable. Just insert an Allen key through the hole in the back of the frame and you can dial the spring tension up or down without even removing the grips. The drawback is that there is a lot of pretravel slack with no good built-in way of adjusting it. Cranking up the return spring tension does reduce the overall travel a bit, but doesn't change the activation point. But as superman mentions, it should be possible to modify the trigger plate to remove some of that pretravel.

DeadlyWind's hAir valve V2 (the white 3D printed one) does come in a Gmek version. I'm pretty sure that's the only available aftermarket valve. PE never made one. I have it in my Gmek frame and it does indeed shorten the activation point and lighten the pull.

The Automag: Not as clumsy or random as an electro. An elegant marker for a more civilised age.

That is a super valid point - I am talking about the slider frame for the Gtek/original Gmek frame.

For the gmek and hair valve combo you have right now - how notable is the difference? Does it feel like $70 well spent or "spent the money because I had it, but it is a practice in diminishing returns"?

Honestly, probably the latter, but it's hard to tell because I didn't play with the Gmek for very long with the stock valve so I don't have a very solid basis for comparison.
