Planet Eclipse ETEK3 Regulator Vent Seal.

So Planet Eclipse doesn't list this part in the ETEK3 manual (it might be in one of the manuals for the other markers that use the same regulator/piston), but I'm working on an ETEK3 for someone, and need the regulator vent seal. We had a couple of NOS pistons at the field, but it turns out they have failed in the same way!

It's the part circled in yellow (46 is for an unrelated o-ring)

It's found under the threaded brass tip on the piston, and held in place with a spring.

I had the same issue a while back. I ended up
just buying a new piston assembly. It worked fine the couple of times i used it. I sold it before i really played with it that much.

I'm thinking about remaking these myself, out of a different material. I've not contacted PE yet, but I doubt they have any, and if they did, it's all NOS that's probably starting to break down too. One of the NOS pistons we had at the field still had what appeared to be a good one in it... until I touched it. As soon I touched it, it turned into dust.

If someone didn't care about fully degassing the marker after tank removal, it would be trivial to disable this by sealing it up with something. Sure the marker would still hold a shot or two, for a little while at least, just like back in the good old days. Just got to take a shot or two after removing the tank to full degas the marker, if that's something you care about.

Is it a flat disk like one like they use on older ego? I bet they would be super easy to make just got to find the right material to use.

Chuck E Ducky It's actually a "mushroom" shape, with the "stem" inserted into the spring as a guide, and the "head" sealing the port.

So, the "just get rid of the venting function" fix worked on an 09 Ego that came in with the same problem. I unscrewed the brass tip, removed the spring, filled the cavity with hot glue, and screwed the brass tip back on. I figure that an 09 is running on borrowed time anyway...
