So I picked up this sniper for a great deal. Upon taking it out to the range I noticed it wouldn't shoot any faster than 240 and it had a slight leak. I took the gun apart and did a full rebuild with all new o rings. I noticed the top bolt is supposed to have 3 rings but the front ring was missing. I don't think that would explain the leak but maybe the low velocity. The rings on the valve seemed a bit older so I thought the rebuild would do the trick. I set the regulator to factory settings as it was turned up a bit. After making sure everything was cleaned and lubed along with fresh rings, I hooked the bottle to it and noticed there was still a bit of a leak. This is even after I cocked it. I test fired it a few times and noticed that sometimes it would stop leaking and then it would start again for a few cycles. It would go back and forth between leaking and not leaking after shooting a bit. Has anyone had this issue with a sniper before ? I'm also thinking about ordering a whole new valve and cup seal assembly but don't want to start throwing money at it just yet. If adding that front ring to the bolt that was missing remedies my low velocity issue I may just play with it a bit to see if it works itself out. Any ideas or recommendations?

Where is the leak located?
I read that sometimes you need to shim out the valve orings using teflon tape ( ANS video on Youtube). Another thing is that the valve retention screw should only be finger tight. If too tight, it causes the valve to sit in lower tube cockeyed and leak.
Velocity issue should only be standard Cocker stuff. .Could be a weak main spring . I"m told standard Cocker springs will work.
Are you holding the pump arm forward when you pull trigger? I do not know you're level of experience with this type of marker so some of my comments may not apply.
edit again** Did you "sweet spot " the regulator. I'm guessing that you set HPR pressure using the small gauge on vertical ASA. They are not always accurate. -
I just saw that Teflon tape hack , I will give it a try tomorrow. I made sure the valve retention screw wasn't too tight as well. I'll see about getting a new spring as well if the Teflon tape doesn't work. I haven't sweet spotted the regulator yet as I am waiting on my chrono to arrive in the mail. Factory recommends 220 at the regulator if I remember correctly. It was set at 270 when I got it. Pump arm is definitely forward when shot. The bolt o-ring won’t cause a leak. Most people take them off to make the pump smoother as the o-ring travels across the detents. Running the o-ring on the front of the bolt may give you more efficiency but that’s it.
You’ll need to figure out where the leak is coming from. Could be as simple as the macro o-ring needs to be replaced.
Make sure to drop a little oil in the asa before putting your bottle on. Might help with leak.Comment
