    Sniper inconsistent velocity

On my sniper I recently put in an ID hammer and rebuilt the reg with IDs kit. When I got into the reg it looks like someone had put a good chisel stike in the regulator vent adjuster piston and i couldn't get it out. Everything else came apart and went together just fine but I couldn't zero out the reg after, so I took it apart and double checked my work, all good. Still can't zero out pressure and my shots range from 260's to 311 fps. So new piston time, new reg time, or am I missing some piece of this puzzle?

If the reg isn’t staying consistent it’s likely your issue. However did you happen to reverse the grip frame screws?

(Long to the front short to the back) otherwise the long screw in the back will interfere with the lower tube springs cause all kinds of issues for yah.

You also need to balance out your reg pressure and sweet spot it.

“What do you mean by Zero out the reg?”

Oh that’s right it’s an Empire sniper they have proprietary frames. Those use the same length front and back.

One rebuild video said to set pressure to zero to start out.

Just start with the reg low it don’t need to be at zero and IVG about 1.5 turns in from flush. Then turn the reg pressure up till velocity starts to drop back it off 1/4-1/2 turn. Then adjust at the IVG for field speed. You will need a Chrono to do it properly.

I've got a little pocket chrono, but I ran out of air. At one certain spot in the reg it shot 290 to 300. It was pretty consistent when backed down from that spot. Seems good enough for now.

Thanks for the help. It'll be fun to get this out and let it fling some paint.

Yeah anytime you change springs you will need to sweet spot the reg. When you get the reg set leave it alone.

More tinkering to come then. I've got the spring kit but I wanted to get it to a usable place before I go play and fine tune it.
