V1 Axe Pro Issue

Picked up this Gen 1 AXE Pro for a song, but I'm having trouble getting it going.

When I got it, the noid wasn't clicking (at least not audibly) and when I put air on it, it would take 8-10 shots to get air moving through the gun. Then, once it was cycling, the shots have no velocity (low pressure).

I replaced battery with new Energizer, I bought a new noid and replaced that as well. Did a full tear down, clean, and relube of the guts.

The issue persists.

I've done all of that, including checking the asa/reg as well. I don't have any leaks anywhere, and I'm curious if there are known electrical/board/connection issues and that's why i'm not getting good cycle on solenoid even when no air on marker?

Whats the dwell set to? The default dwell for a regular axe is 8ms so yours should be the same or pretty close to that, set it to that and see if there's any improvement.

Reset the board to default, if that doesn't help, check/replace these two o-rings. If either of these two o-rings fail, you won't have an external/audible leak. However, if they are leaking they will prevent the drop in pressure behind the poppet that is required to open the poppet and fire a ball at full velocity. An Axe/Mini works by the solenoid taking air from behind the poppet and directing it to behind the bolt. This pushes the bolt forward, and when bolt is completely forward vents on the powertube open. This causes a rapid drop of pressure behind the poppet, and causes it to open. One of these two o-rings leaking will allow air to get behind the poppet too quickly, and prevent, or lessen, the rapid drop in pressure.

This is helpful, and I will try that tomorrow.

To compare, I tested my son's Mini GS and I can hear his noid clicking loudly when firing eyes off and no air on marker.

I do not hear my solenoid (old one or new one) doing that.

Would that mean electrical issue is a more likely culprit?

Could be the capacitor. Try the Mini GS solenoid in the Axe, and vise versa.

I will try that, if it i works then I got a bad "new" solenoid.

If not , then it may be board related.

I factory reset the marker, so I assumed that was reset when I did it. I'll have to check to see if it's been changed before.
