    Crossbow scope/sights for First Strikes?

Hi, I would to check if anyone has experience using crossbow scopes/sights with first strike rounds. I like the Supremacy scope but it’s quite costly.

I saw a Killer Instinct Lumix Speedring 1.5 to 5 x 32 IR-E HD Hunting Crossbow Scope which appears to be a WalMart budget seller which is around $80 to $129.

I’m hoping someone has some experience if a Crossbow scope/sight would be any reasonable experience.

    Thanks!

A standard crossbow scope would work but you will need something like the HHA optimizer or the Tiberius adjustable rail to be able to use the scope of the full range of the projectile The Supremacy scope was designed with First Strikes in mind and will work without the additional equipment required. By the time you add in the other pieces you will be close to the cost of the Supremacy scope.

Flounder raised the exact point that made me get the supremacy, do the math for yourself ...

The tiberius riser are had to get nowadays (and expensive) ... And they way a ton ...

I know exactly which site you’re talking about and I was curious myself having seen it if it would be any good for first strikes. Let me give you this after shooting for strikes for the last 10 years. Well I would suggest over anything else is a 3-D printed or otherwise slanted rail and a decent rifle scope that has some drop compensation. As far as that scope what I would tell you to do is perhaps maximize the zoom is what I would do and then find wherever the reticle points actually correspond to i.e. Top hash at 46 yards, next hash at ....
I have the supremacy on an HH a crossbow optimizer rail and it’s perfect but I have four set ups and I only have one supremacy so I have much experience with crossbow scopes.

Do you use the bdc when you adjust the optimizer? Seems you would use the center reticle when adjusting the angle of the optimizer.

So I picked up one of those Luminix crossbow scopes they had at Wally World for a FSR Shooter I’m building and so far it looks like an $80 XB1. I’m sure I can use it on this build specifically, updates to come.

Having used it at mid to short range so far I like it. Very similar to a Hawke Xb1

I found if I get a setup I can look down the Barrel line on, I can just point shoot them by eye with dam good accuracy. It’s not like they shoot that far ware you need magnification. Really the sight is only good as a point of reference, and it takes longer to acquire.

I really find red dots to be very handy, especially with FSR. They're meant to be used with both eyes open like an OEG where it superimposes the dot over your vision. They're better than an OEG too because your field of view is better too. I've also heard people say that scopes are used to track the trajectory of the fsr, and less for actually viewing the target.

I was at an event recently where they had a field set up as a time trial. You had a T15 with 2 magazines of FSR and you had to run through the field as fast as possible shooting small targets. Shooting instinctively like with normal paintballs was difficult because of the different trajectory and the stock prevented me from getting behind the sights or even really looking down the barrel (even without a mask I still couldn't actually use the sights because the 13ci stock was so thick).

If you buy the orange backed FS rounds you can track them at full range no problem. I always buy the Dark nose orange backs. I recently picked up a IZON sight I have yet to try I was hoping it would just bolt on the rail I already have however it dose not. But I plan on zeroing it in at max range for those extra long shots when I get it mounted. Then I can just point shoot them mid range. I can’t aim any of the replica markers with the intrusive stocks with a mask on. If I can’t put a drop stock on it it’s not for me.

I’ve had two supremacy's, one on an mg100 and another on a Sar12c. Take the time to set them up properly and they do as advertised. Ultimately I sold them both and settled on a red green dot sight. Much lighter, with faster target acquisition. Dialed it in at 65 yards. Like Chuck I prefer the rounds with the bright tails. If the round falls short, raise the dot and try again.
