Would it be advisable to leave the hammer on a b2k/PM hand tight with an oring at the bottom of the threads for preload, or would it vibrate loose?

My take on that idea is no, for two reasons... one, the hammer will loosen off in time and you will destroy the lower tube/valve/ram shaft/etc, and two, the oring will space the hammer out further than is designed and the bolt will not line up properly/the rammer may bottom out on the valve.
Use a bit of blue loctite and you will be fine.

Thanks Jordan, ya you're right, not the greatest idea. No matter how hard I try no to, I manage to Mar the ram shaft/hammer without fail. Just getting tired of repolishing them. If only they milled Allen key slots in them...
