    BKO question's/restoration thread.

Box of parts BKO I acquired today.
To my understanding this is a blind 04.
Everything looks in great condition, but I am assuming the Valve orings are toast and likely the LPR will need to be rebuilt.
Planning on helping modern paint problems with a nylon detent and ram spacer mod.

How do I disassemble the ram if/when I need to?

Any line on an aftermarket trigger?

I've been using #010 Teflon 55D "o" rings as detents on these with great success, the rams don't seem to like being shimmed though, the breech is a hair smaller then on the older B2Ks.

Ram disassembly is identical to how you disassemble a B2K ram, the big difference is there is only one "o" ring in the BKO rams, and the spring is in front. The rams on these benefit considerably from a good polishing job and a Quad ring on the ram shaft.

Vapor triggers are extremely hard to find now days without buying an entire marker. I'd probably just magnet mod the stock 2k3/4 trigger.

Thank you very much for the reply.

Heat the hammer, soft vice the ram body and unscrew hammer?

Got a reg, gauge and ASA slapped on it, and started turning up the hpr, the valve holds! Started turning up the lpr, and surprise, it leaks like a sieve.
Leaks from LPR front, and likely the macroline.

Rebuilding tomorrow, this is scratching a big "12 year old me" itch.

Rebuilt LPR, Greased ram, and checked out the valve. All that holds air, BUT!
It has a serious leak at the solenoid gasket, I have a spare, and am going to try and grease em both up and re installing later.

Rebuilt the ram, still have a very apparent leak at the ram/gasket/manifold.

Is your gas line still good? It's 3/32nds, you can use vinyl tubing from ace as a substitute if it's rotted.

Worst case scenario I&I sports still has noids in stock.

How high is your your LPR set. Back it all the way out and start screwing it in slowly and see if that makes the leak go away. 1/4 turn on the LPR can take it within or out of operating range and cause it to leak in the solenoid area. So start it at it's lowest and work your way up. If it goes away, you've got your answer. If not, then it's something more difficult.

found what i believe to be the correct solenoid rebuild, gonna try servicing the noid next, then rebuilding it as a last ditch.

It's also worth noting, since that is a 2k4, if the LPR is indeed toast you can stick a Promaster/Bushmaster LPR on it. The 03s don't have that luxury.

The LPR appears to be regulating now, and no leak out the front of the LPR/leak increases as I raise the LPR. Really think it is the solenoid or gasket, going to attempt permatex first, as that is the $5 fix, then a rebuild, if that doesn't cut it, it will make a fabulous shadowboxed relic.

I have at least one dead BKO noid, and 2 or 3 I haven't even tested yet. I bet I could part swap this into working condition eventually. If you aren't in a rush and cover shipping I could resurrect it. No need to relegate this to the parts bin just yet. 😘

She lives! Will post a shooting video soon. Myrkul worked some magic (replaced the missing bits) on the solenoid, but it bolted right up and after retuning the HPR and LPR she is singing!
