Alley Cat bottomline with stock M16 grip

I got an Alley Cat in today. This is a long term project, so I'm open to any suggestions.

My first order of business is to install a bottom line ASA so I can comfortably shoot this with a mask. The only ASA is rear mounted, and there just isn't enough clearance to mount one of my dovetail red dots to it. My question is, does the stock grip on this thing take a Spyder grip block like this: https://www.oregonpaintball.com/spyd...le-insert.html ?

There's a 32 degrees kit on eBay that would make a nice plug and play solution for what I'm trying to do, but I don't want to blow $40 and then need to do a .45 frame anyway. If anyone has any insights, I appreciate it.

You don't have a vertical asa as well as the back bottle? Either way you need a bottomline mount, but that seems odd. They could come with one or both asas, but I always thought the vertical asa was pretty common. Post up some pics, and look up Myrkuls write up in the ICD section of the armory for modernizing cats. They can be great shooters on hpa.

Nope, no vertical ASA. Just the back one that screws in at an angle. I'll post some pics of it, it's one that had been floating around on eBay for a bit.

Probably an even more expensive solution, but CCI 45 frames fit this perfectly and have the standard mounting screw holes for a bottom line.

You might have trouble drilling out the air passage for the back bottle on this one. I've only ever drilled the vert ASAs, never the back bottles.

Good opportunity to learn something new and share it, then. I'll read up on your post, then take it step by step from there.

You'll need an adapter for a ramline style grip

It will fit any standard m4 style grip. I believe the one I have on mine came off a Spyder. Which is also a great way to get aluminum 45 grip frames for cheap. What all you planning on doing to it?

My initial plan is to get this bottomline figured out, and so far I've started by picking up a hose rig that'll run from the bottomline to the rear ASA, kind of like a lot of old Automags had. I also got a spyder m16 grip block, because everything I can find about this particular grip points to it being a Spyder grip, not a Ramline. If that doesn't work, I'll track down a Ramline block.

Beyond that, I'm gonna follow Myrkul's steps to set it up for modern tiny paint before I do anything else. Afterwards, I would like to set it up for HPA, but have no issue keeping this bad boy on CO2 if that's easier. I just need to find a place that will fill tanks (might go with 12 oz for ergos), and barring that, get an adapter for 90 oz disposables.

Myrkuls mods work great. And if you can get a reg to output 800 or higher should be good to go on hpa. 🫡 another cat in the fray

Well, this has turned into a nightmare project. If anyone has a 45 frame, I'm all ears.

Pro-Line, and probably others, made a bottomline adapter for this grip back in the day.
