    Restoring a Hammer 3

I was fortunate enough to obtain a beautiful Hammer 3 and a parts marker from a friend of mine who lurks here. He was moving out of state and knew I always admired this so we worked out a swap. The complete marker is absolutely beautiful and has all of the plastic parts intact.

So now I turn my attention to the bag o parts. I am just now looking at what I have and the most obvious issue is the plastic. Hoping this will not be that difficult to overcome because my son is fairly handy with a 3d printer so I am going to have him try and make some parts. Will have several sets made up because if I use the complete marker I will remove the original stuff so it doesn't get damaged. So now looking at the rest it appears to be fairly complete but does anyone possibly posses any type of parts breakdown on these? Part of me wants to tear into the complete marker to see the layout but honestly I am a coward and don't want to take any chance of damaging anything that can't be replaced. Hoping there is some info out there on these. Any help/advice will be truly appreciated.

And I will admit up front this will probably be a slow process but I will update as I can

Oh my! And a parts marker as well! I'm excited for you and will be watching the progress on this. A shooting video is a must you know. 🙂

Yee haw! Bringing another one back to life!

Dibs! (He may just want to keep both if he can get her going.)

How closely do these mimic ProLites? It has always been my understanding that the Tippmans were the inspiration for Hammer III's.

Most of the drive train is very similar to the Tippmann series markers and the valve body and power tube looks alot like Brass Eagle's Poison. Instead of taking down the complete marker, use the parts marker as your learning curve of the hammer lll and rebuild it. Good luck with your build.

It looks very similar to a montneel without delayed blowback.

Do montneel have delayed blowback? How does it work?

Bolt isn't attached directly to the hammer

I always thought these were knock offs of Sheridan XTS style markers, Mokals, etc and any other Crosman inspired valve trains.

I'd love to get mine up and running.
I picked mine up a few years back, no expansion chamber, sight rail and the plastic side piece was replaced by a piece of sheet aluminum.
I have completely cleaned it, but it leaks down the barrel.

Do you have air to it? It won't latch without air.

Any progress on the resurrection? Got your kid making some parts?

Not trying to rush you. I just don't want to lose track of this project. Kind of nostalgic for me.

Life kinda drop kicked me shortly after I picked this up. Got stuck on the back burner for a bit but hopefully I can pick it up soon
