    Older Spyder Victor low velocity

Buddy went to his first game and they handed out basic markers to new players who attended. From what I can tell, its an old spyder victor (metallic light blue, with a rail on the back). It airs up fine but low velocity. I'm thinking warn main spring? any other suggestions or parts to check/replace?

Main spring and the often very short barrels these came with are the two most common low velocity causes

      Issues that could cause this,
.#1 Using HPA Tank that is under 800psi output , Spyders run about 800 psi
      .#2 Hammer Spring..
      Rebuild , Replace all o-rings , lube well.. Hammer o-ring is 015- 50 durometer

I minor detail, I wonder if spyders, tippmanns and other box store blowback’s were under sprung to keep velocity down. That way when outlaw ballers with no chrono play, regardless of what they did, it was in a safe range.

          No.

I've encountered many that would not shoot UNDER 300.

The springs are the same regardless of where you buy

i remember taking my new grey body spyder to the field and having to swap out springs to a softer one to get the velocity down.
