Late 90's G Spot tarantula series recreation build thread

For the longest time this is the Spyder I've wanted to recreate. I am going to start now. My end goal is to have it looking just like this nearly 30 year old image from G Spot's old website. I will also be setting it up for low pressure as advertised all those years ago. I will update this thread as often as I can.

    The end goal:

You'd think scorpion would be a better suited name with that sight rail. Looking forward to seeing you work you magic!

What is your plan for the sight rail? Cool project!

I have half a dozen of those sight rails and back blocks so I've those bases covered.

The only bit I am uncertain to have is that specific LPC. I know I've one like it, but is it the same one? I'll have to dig in order to find out.

Looks like this marker has the proline 45 you seek (if needed)

I was able to source the correct frame block this year so I'm good there.

The one you've listed in the Ebay ad angles the ASA upwards. What's needed for this build is a block the angles downward, a much harder item to find.

In order to offer a fuller picture of this build, I'll leave some info on G Spot Customs.

I believe G Spot Customs was based out of California and the time frame would have been the late middle nineties to just into the new millennium. Customizing Spyders was their bread and butter. The Spyder offered an entry level paintball marker that could be customized with a wide variety of aftermarket bits and custom mods as well. G Spot was one of many outfits that offered custom services for the Spyder. Their Tarantula series is what caught my eye many years ago. There were many iterations of the Tarantula series with no real main trait. All colors and options could be had. G Spot never grew to be really big, and many have never heard of them. Check the wayback machine for more info on them.

Pretty certain I have one of those LPCs, but I will have to dig and look. Anything else you’re after for this one?
