How many mags do you run?

Curious what you guys take out into the field and what your games are like?

I'm mainly building my setup for big games, aiming for 10 mags but just bouncing around ideas of how many mags to shoot for for other situations

I run 6 mags, that is one 12g on the SSR, ill take an extra 4 i made and a few 12g if i feel like i may need them.

When i ran roundball magfeed, i took as many as i needed to empty the tank.

Yeah I did some rough math on the 17ci I have now and it came out to around 500 shots so since I don't feel like carrying 25 mags I don't think the tank will be the limiting factor

But what are your games like that you carry 6 mags for? How many people? And how many shots is each of those mags?

each mag is 6 rounds, that gives me 35 shot (bolt action) and 10 to 20 eliminations.
If I feel like i really need more, i made 4 extra mags for 60 rounds total. i never felt like i needed more before i needed a break (I have done sub 50 rounds in a day of bolt action play).

It depends a lot of your gameplay, do you shoot semi, full auto, pump, ...?

16 tubes for the nasty painter, 4-8 12 round mags on the tipx and half as many 12 grams. ive onely got five mags for the AT 85 but a handful of foward loaders so ill take about 4 of the forward loaders including the on gun loader, local shop has a SarX and im considerring picking it up, its got a 13 ci and 3 extra mags for 700, im not sure how the deal stacks up. let alone the limited games i can use FSR.

I find myself using the EMF100 more and more as a DMR role for my group I run with. This only works because one of my guys is a straight gangster who likes to mug people up close. He draws a lot of fire. He and a few other get into gun fights and I sit in the back longballing with first strike rounds. I have (5) 20 round mags and that seems to be plenty for how I run. I would absolutely love for a neat little 50 round drum that was snug to the mag-well. Not those hideous hang out of the bottom of the marker by a foot monstrosities they currently make.
Do hard things for fun. Being soft is for sissies. Being an asshole is easy, thats why everyone is one. Being stand up us hard. Be a hard bastard but be respectful.

Generally I will run 1+3 20 round mags.

I mostly play magfed during walk-on games and MFOGs and that has generally been more than enough paint, but I hate bulk and love limited paint so YMMV.

So I just started playing magfed (loving it BTW!) and I have 11 CF20 mags for the EMF100. I played with 10 (carrying 9 and one in to start) and for most games I shot a max of 4. That's with some paint still in some as it was getting low and I was afraid someone would come through and I wouldn't have enough left. I will probably start only carrying 6 plus one in to start. That's with normal rec days playing against mostly electrics and a few rentals.

If I were to play a big game with just mags I would probably take all 11 just so I didn't have to walk all the way back because I ran out of paint. I also have the MCS box that holds around 200 so I would also consider using that and 5 pods to refill it. I run the 36/4500 tanks on all my guns now, including my LV2. It is enough air to shoot at least 4 pods and a hopper. On a big game I would probably run my 80/4500 tank. Again, I don't want to have to walk all the way back because I was out of something.

Most fields around me only allow FSR for MFOGs, so generally I'll be shooting roundball. During MFOGs or scenarios I will usually have 3 20 round mags of FSR and 1 backup mag of roundball.

So far I have only shot round ball on rec days. Our field doesn't allow FSR unless it's a separate MFOG. I haven't played a big game or MFOG since switching over that allows FSR. I do have some at the house though and they shoot so much better!

7 CF20 mags of roundball when I use my EMF, that being a full AK chest rig and one in the gun, though I try not to insert the mag until the last possible minute to avoid deforming the paint.

It really depends on the game, and volume of players for me.

For a large format MFOG, I’m carrying 6 CF20s on a chest rig - back and front. At primary spawn I have a tactical bag hidden away with about 20 more. I switch out mags when I return to spawn. If your a team that wants to hold something and win, your refresh rate is just as critical in MFOG.

I do run the risk of someone stealing my mags but I make it difficult for them: the bag is locked and my mags marked. The spare tank I keep in the bag has mostly been used for my friends making an exit just for air. (Because they’re running 13ci or equivalent)

if I’m playing casually at my favorite field, I’ll just load the chest rig and toss a couple dye 10 rder mags in my pockets. Nothing fancy.

As an update I played last week and we had 2 guys that were aggressive and fast moving up the field with electrics. Since I'm not fast at swapping mags I played with the box mag a few games to catch them pushing and not running out of paint. Once they slowed down I went back to mags. Still running 6 total but sometimes swapping mags before they were empty just in case I needed a full 20 shots. Still didn't need more than 4-5 mags total. This was on a normal rec day.
