32 degrees PT series pistols. WTH?

So, as many of you know, I'm a collector. Read as Hoarder. I have acquired several of the PT family of paintball pistols. To date I have identified three model name Xtreme, Enforcer and Professional. What I have found in reality is a mix mash of features under different names. The Xtreme model have removable barrels, or so I thought. Enforcer models have a body with the barrel as part of it. I have seen an Xtreme with a non-removable barrel, like the Enforcer. Xtreme had a detachable round magazine. Enforcer had a fixed round feed body and only the mag tube was detachable. I have seen the Enforcer with a plastic hexagonal feed body, that required a special slot in the top of the body. I have models with and without side cocking cut outs. I'm currently waiting on the arrival of the Professional model. I have also found different milled bodies on Enforcers. So, my question, is there any rhyme or reason to the models?

That silver one I don't think is an xtreme, I'm pretty sure that's a PT Jr. The xtreme had the drop out changer like your black one

The only real rhyme or reason is that they could sell them like hotcakes there was an explosion of these in the early 2000s they are collectively known as Zeus clones even though the Zeus was not the first one.

Honestly I think this is one of the larger mysteries in paintball these days nobody seems to know where the design originated from or who it was that was shopping it around to pretty much the entire industry. Companies were clearly able to make their own changes but even still a lot of the parts are still interchangeable.

The magazines for the most part come in two varieties

The first one has the two posts that attached to the marker towards the rear the other style has one all the way on the front and the other in the rear. A few of the markers can actually accept both styles

I remember reading somewhere that the enforcer was actually sold to law enforcement agencies looking for something to use in training so I'm not surprised that there's a couple different versions of that one if that's true

For the most part the internet has forgotten that the enforcer even exists go do a Google search for images I think there's like two

The are other markers you should look up like the Delta 68 pistol (they also made a full size marker with the same name) ariacron overlord, Piranha.... USP?

First, thanks for the feedback. I have a selection of the various brands. The real confusion comes with the PT series. Yes, the silver one is sold with the Xtreme label. Can be seen on a Youtube video. So you have Xtremes with and without the drop out CO2. The two Xtreme variants use the same removable magazines. The Enforcers have removable feed tube only. The feed gates, round or hex, are fixed to the top of the gun.
As for the other brands, the mags vary in design, attachment methods and locations. I will posts pics of the other markers when I get a chance.
To date my list is: Zeus, Ariakon Overlord, Rap4 T68, Core Z, PT Xtreme, PT Enforcer, PT Professional, Piranha USP, Pepperball.

I had a little time tonight so I did a little more digging around. Here's what I found,

There's at least 5 versions of the pt specifically

The PT professional


Much boxier body, no drop out or removable barrel, the few photos o can find all have a bottom line setup as well

Pt enforcer

The magazine shape and slight milling differences is the only real difference I see between the professional and enforcer

The PT jr


No removable barrel and no drop out changer but lighter weight milling. Does not have a name on the side that I have ever seen

The PT Xtreme jr.

Removable barrel but no drop out changer, also typically has the "PT Xtreme" name on the side but not always

And the PT Xtreme,

I found a reference to a PT Xtreme pro but couldn't find anything else on it so I'm thinking that person was confusing the professional but I can't rule out that there's another one either

I recently purchased a PT Professional model. It's currently in shipping. The item I bought does not have the magazine. What I have in hand kinda matches what you sent, with some variations. Understand that if the marker I have or is pictured has a name printed on it, I assume it was sold as such. I have an Xtreme with removable barrel, dop out and round removable magazine. I have or have seen an Xtreme with non removable barrel, no drop out and a removable magazine I have Enforcers with 2 different magazines, and with and without side cocking slot. I have an unlabeled model the has the Enforcers body milled differently at the barrel portion. I do not have a PT Jr or Enforcer Jr labeled as such. But this may explain the variations in the some models. Damn confusing!

I did extensive research on all the different models of these,if you have questions I probably have the answers. I'll post up all my findings when I get a moment but just so you know it goes like this....
1st Gen PT Enforcer has side cocking and rear cocking, round feed,short hammer
2nd Gen PT Enforcer has rear cocking only and hexagonal feed ,short hammer



PT Professional (which is what the Zeus is based on) Separate piercing block and Spyder style valve,short hammer,Rear Hidden recocking
PT Punisher (II Sports Exclusive, Identical to the Professional otherwise)

Note: Though the PT Enforcer and Professional are similar not all parts are compatible.The PT Xtreme shares next to nothing with its predecessors

1st Gen PT Xtreme had drop out,large logo brass valve body with built-in piercing, removable barrel ,Spyder hammer
2nd Gen PT Xtreme has dropout, Small logo, stainless valve body with built-in piercing, removable barrel ,Spyder hammer
3rd Gen PT Xtreme has no drop out,small logo, stainless valve body with built-in piercing ,removable barrel ,Spyder hammer
4th Gen PT Xtreme aka PT jr has no drop out , fixed barrel, Spyder style valve and separate piercing assembly,Spyder Hammer


Armotech Zeus/Core ZX/Miltec Zeus
Basically the same at the PT Professional aside from a few minor details.
Ariakon ACP
Basically the same as the Zeus aside from a few minor details.Early ones even have the same feed as the Zeus,later ones had a proprietary one.
Ariakon Overlord/Delta 68/T68
These are all basically the same pistols aside from cosmetics which are all based on the PT Xtreme and PT Jr. The overlord and the t68 feature no dropout changer and a delrin bolt Spyder style hammer,and a plastic grip frame. The Delta 68 features a dropout changer and a metal grip frame with a cam style removable bolt. All three of these feature the PT jr piercing assembly and Spyder style valve. Should be noted that this piercing assembly is junk and should be replaced with the upgraded one they sell now. Also note the t68 feed incompatible with any other model of pistol because of the design.

So this is what I have found from experience and fellow members:
PT Xtreme Gen1, Gen 2 , and Jr. All have the open back, spring pin retention, short grip frame and detachable round tube magazine

PT Enforcer have 4 generations but only 4 exterior visible differences:
Round Fixed Magazine Feed
Hex Fixed Magazine Feed, required additional horizontal slot in top rail to hold in place. Can not be put on round feed model.
Thread in velocity and bolt cocking
Bolt in velocity and bolt cocking
Lack of side cocking slot

I owned the chrome one you have pictured, i believe it was a pt extreme jr. Removable mag, built in barrel. Circa 2k8? It was my favorite pistol. I also had a pirhana (ump?) Looked more like a weird raygun, non removable mag, on top. For what it was the pt jr was fun, decently powered, and a little kickey. Ive been prowling around for one again but i might be getting an hdr 68 revolver from umarex. Easy change revolver mags, and it looks dirty harry af. Lol. These pics took me down memory lane hardcore. I friggin wish they would come back with the pt extremes. They were less clunky than the ariakon overlords, and i think better than the pirhana pistol.

I have the Piranah USP which is very similar to the PT series pistols in function, but a little more compact. Additionally, I have the Umarex series of pistols and revolvers. Like all Umarex markers/launchers, the HDR68 has a no velocity adjuster. The HDR68 is fun to use. The base 7.5 joule model shoots in the low 200's and requires a slight valve mod to get the FPS to around 260s - 280s. They tend to break paint if fired very fast. The double action revolver does not fully rotate into proper alignment during rapid fire. Slower, steady repeated fire does not seem to have the same effect. The TR50 is a great revolver, identical to the 68 caliber version, but in 50 caliber. The advantage to the TR50 is that one of our members makes a drop in velocity adjuster.

Here is the latest update of my PT series of pistols.
The first pic is the 4 colors of PT Xtreme's that I have. I think that I am missing at least 1 PT Xtreme, the Chrome on Chrome. Also, I'm pretty sure that the Red Xtreme should have a Red spring feed. I have also noticed the retaining pin on the color series is different than the Gen 1 retaining pin.
The second pic is 1 chrome PT Xtreme Gen3 and 1 Chrome and 1 Black PT Xtreme Jr's. The main difference between the Gen3 and the Jr is the removable barrel on the Gen3.
The third pic is of PT Enforcers Gen 1,2,3, PT Professionals in Black and Blue and a PT Punisher. I know the PT Professional with the Hex receiver is missing the chrome spring tube and hex end cap.
Other things to note. The PT Xtreme spring feed is the same as the Delta 68. The PT Enforcers series has 2 different feed receivers and spring feed bodies that are not interchangeable on markers. The square aluminum feed of the PT Professional is the same as the feeds on the PepperBall, Zeus and Core Z markers with the latching pins in differing locations.

My first paintball marker was a PT extreme so the nostalgia is hitting pretty hard when I look at this thread. I had no idea what i was doing, I did not have a belt for tubes and 12 grams, I just wanted one cuz it looked cool. I was not very combat-effective, I will tell you that much What is it like playing with these nowadays? What kind of setup do you usually run?

If you are playing with pumps and regular semi players, you can do well enough. Especially on fields with plenty of cover to maneuver. You are completely screwed against speed guns. This type of spring feed magazine system is not the fastest reload, putting you at an additional disadvantage to the incoming hose of paint from a speed gun with electric hopper. Your choices are to swap magazines or reload the magazine in place. Swapping mags can be difficult if you cannot find spares. This is especially true for the older less popular brands. The RAP4 and Airakon seem to be the easier mags to find. The cast aluminum Zeus and PT mags are harder to find. In any event there are multiple steps in reloading or swapping the mags. Meaning your opponents are able to move in on you while you are defenseless. The current mag feed pistols are much faster and more abundant.
However, carrying 2 pistols means you can have one loaded and ready to defend yourself, even when you are reloading the other.
