    Splatmaster Rapide Valve Repairs?

This may be redundant. but has anyone been able to consistently fix Rapide valve leaks. This wonderous valve was designed by Satan to annoy us mere mortals. His Evil design has been reincarnated in the ER4. Although the ER4 is a slightly better design, the fundamental flaws are still in place. The biggest issue is pushing O-rings over threaded surfaces. As I see it, there are 3 O-rings. One at the cap/power tube. One in the rear of the operating shaft. The last is at the tip of the valve pin. The first 2 are relatively simple to replace. The last is a little more difficult.
So, here is my problem. Even when I lube the replacement O-rings generously, I still get a leak either when it airs up or after a few shots. What am I doing wrong?

Good question. I haven't played with them enough, but the ER4 is an interesting gun and I'm surprised not that they didn't take off, but the hopper that came with them didn't take off for the pump players. Now that is a tiny tiny hopper but still holds 45-ish rounds.

I'm using 004 orings and they work fine. I have been messing around with 003 orings as well mostly because I had them. They work but you need to double stack them.
The powertube oring is the one that gets me. Too much variation gun to gun to say exactly what it is. I put a slightly undersized one on it just so the gun cycles properly.

Thanks for the feedback. I have plenty of 003, 004, 005 and 006 O-rings on hand. I will replace all the seals on a valve using the 004 and see if it works.
It has occurred to me that there are actually 4 O-rings. One on the tip of the power tube that seals in the bolt. One at the nut portion that threads into the valve body. One at the tip of the valve pin that seals against the power tube. And finally, one at the base of the valve body sealing the valve pin sticking out the back of the valve body. It's difficult to know which of the 3 O-rings in the valve portion, are leaking, since there is no way to gas the system with 1/2 of the shell.

COB Have you tried using 1 or 2 dental picks, to slide past the treaded portion, to help avoid the chance of flawing the o-ring upon installation? Is that the issue with nicks/chips/etc?

No, I have not. I'm not sure you have enough space as the O-rings in question are very small to begin with. However, I will try your suggestion, since my way has not worked. I'll update on the outcome.
