    Nova “Twin Spool Trigger Valve”

Anybody set one of these up yet?

Mine is already pissing me off because I’m dumb and my 1/20 hex wrench had a burr that made me think the screw was smaller

I was surprised Nova doesn’t have a product video or manual for it. And I just noticed it is missing a setscrew.

I JUST snagged one of these at an event last weekend after shooting ChoSanJuan's in the shooting range. These things are fast fast.

You can only kinda tell how fast they are from Fred's video below. In person, this absolutely felt like I was doing at least 10 BPS, maybe a touch more.

I'm still in the process of setting mine up, a couple things I have noticed so far:

It takes a little doing, but the super tiny pin that nests in the center of the brass piece CAN fall out if you aren't careful. Be sure you don't loose it.

Like all three ways, they do the best if you stick an "o" ring at the base of the threads to pull out any slack or wobble. It's also important that the tiny set screws that holds the "5-way" to the threaded part are tight, but be careful not to strip them out.

Mine sealed up perfectly on the first try after applying blue loctite to the hose barbs.

The 90 hose barb that connects to the LPR was too big to work nicely with my inception volumizer. I guess technically it worked, but it left the other two barbs stick out at a wonky angle. The threads on the barbs are 3m, I was able to install a smaller 90 hose barb that fits with my volumizer with no issues so the wonky angle is cleared up.

This boy is chunky, so far the only LPRs that I have found to fit are the WGP bullet and Nova's LPR. My tickler, PPS micro rock, Inception, and Shocktech LPRs are too fat and there isn't enough space on the front black.

If you are getting "dragging" on the collar, your front block might be slightly crooked. I noticed that with mine and it took me a bit to realize I just needed to loosen the volumizer and turn the front block a touch before tightening the volumizer back down.

Currently I'm just waiting on a different sear to finish putting mine back together, but as for the three way itself it is ready to rock and will just need to be adjusted to work with the rest of my parts when they arrive.

I have one of these on jokers dye reflex

Dealing with the LPR spacing now, he had a ID LPR on it that will NOT fit so swapping for a jackhammer or novas LPR, both look like they should fit

So I haven't gotten to air it up yet

I just bought a prostock with nova pneumatics. I'm having an issue with blowback in the breach/feedneck. How the hell is this thing adjusted properly? Any advice you guys have is welcomed.

You might have the timing set too short and it's firing the shot while the bolt is opening. I'd try backing the three-way collar out a bit.

I sent an email to Nova to see if they have a copy of install instructions. I'll report back when I hear from them.

I almost wonder if the sentinel bolt is just a bad spec for the prostock body?

If you disable the 5-way completely and fire the marker, are you still getting blowback?

So this is where my ignorance will shine. How do I disable the 5 way and fire the marker?

You can either zero out the LPR, that would disable the five-way, OR you could screw the collar on the timing rod back so that it doesn't stick forward far enough during the trigger pull to engage the five way. Either of those would work, I suspect zeroing out the LPR would be the easiest way. This would disable all recock and let you test just the bolt fit. If you are still getting blowback with zero recock, then it's not a good bolt for your body. If there isn't any blow back, then it's a timing issue.

I REALLY suspect your entire issue is that the gun has the firing sequence set too close to the recock sequence though and the bolt is partially open when the gun is firing.

Got my new reg installed and it's leaking in multiple spots. I wasn't able to get the 5 way to activate later in the firing sequence, but I did swap out the bolt and back block from another gun and the blowback went away. Either way, I've had my fill of Nova products. I have ID parts on the way.

Thank you for the tip with ID. I haven't had any issues with any of the other 3 ways I've worked on. It's not that many, but still. I've built 3 cockers now and I haven't had anywhere near this kind of issues with a standard 3 way. All of them have been hinge frames, too. No sliders yet.(3 is not a brag, btw. I'm aware of my inexperience).

Trade an id 3 way for that troublesome nova 5 way?

If I hadn't already purchased a full set of ID pneumatics before my post, I would have.

I did not. It was rather disappointing. I mentioned it a few times on the phone and TJ casually ignored that particular aspect of the conversation. While I appreciate them reaching out personally, I'm highly disappointed in the lack of literature on their products. Not one item came with any sort of instructions. I even struck out on the Nova Owners FB group.

Last video I saw about the “Gunstar frame”, the pneumatic doohickybob, they said it’ll need the nova 5way

I’m gonna go all in on this POS and grab the frame and their valve for a build

Maybe I'm the exception but I have ZERO issues with their 5-way. I'm honestly pretty impressed by it.

I grabbed one of the Sentinel Mk4 with the pneumatic assist frame (the Gunstar Jsc5150 mentioned) at Living Legends. It's super quick.

I’m trying to build an unreasonably fast cocker

I finally got mine up and running. So far it's a super short trigger pull. I'm no longer experiencing any breech blowback. It's quite a bit faster than my other Prostock with inception pneumatics, but mostly because the trigger pull is less than half of any of my other cockers. I've only test fired it in the garage. Can't wait to bring it out to the field and get it chrono'd and play a few points with it. My nova reg is still in need of a rebuild, but it's running fine with a wgp reg for the time being.
