    NX-1 bolt

I might win the award for 'stupidest question of 2026 so far', but I could have sworn there was an inward curved bolt face on the NX-1 bolt. I played my first game of the year with my NX-1 Sentinel pump gun yesterday and while doing light maintenance today I looked at the bolt and thought 'something's missing'.

I'm thinking I'm confusing it with the Inception Designs bolt (?)

Anyone can confirm if the stock NX-1 bolt should be like this?

        *Edit*: Found my answer.

I was looking at a DocFire video from a year ago (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBDaSnuaYTQ&t=1102s). The bolt tip has an o-ring and the aperture is thicker.

Then I found a more recent video (from BurgaPatty https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mbmh-7js8M) and he seems to have the same bolt I have. There's no o-ring at the front and the aperture wall looks thin.

That's what the bolt looks like in my Nova Mark 4 autococker. They moved to that design recently I guess. It is higher flowing than the old bolt so that is probably why they did that.

I usually run inception bolts but when I put an inception trident bolt in, velocity dropped considerably and the gun sweet spotted about 30psi higher to get the same velocity.

The Nova bolt is very high flowing and seems to fit their body very well for a lower pressure sweet spot.

One thing it doesn't have is a chamfer to help with ball stack clipping which is why I usually use the inception bolts. I went back to running the Nova bolt for the lower pressure sweet spot and haven’t had an issue with ball stack clipping yet. If one arrises I'd pop the inception bolt back in since there's not really a way to file a chamfer into it.

Thanks for the input. I've since then used my NX-1 extensively and never had any issues with ball stack clipping, or any issue that may be related to the wide gap end of the bolt.

Yea I haven't had an issue with clipping either. I just ran a hopper and a half of the smallest paint I had that bored out to .678 to .682 as a test and didnt have any clipping issues.

Like I said I usually like inception bolts but I was seeing a 20 fps jump with the Nova bolt and it seems to fit the body well so I am running that until I have issues.
          Working...
