    Palmers shop will be closing

Many have speculated but unfortunately it's been confirmed, Palmers Pursuit is all but done. Sad times.

I was holding out hope that Craig could salvage it.

I haven’t really followed any news about PPS other than I generally liked their autococker pneumatics.

Any details for those of use that are not up to speed on current events?

The "issue" with Palmers guns is more in the crap design of the LPR body in the lower tube than anything else ...

Rams can't be rebuilt and not off the shelf... Crappy timing methods which degrade or break over time. Hell the BBT typhoon I have the plastic bits used in the trigger mechanism recent crumbled.

A Spyder can be repaired by a zit covered teen.... A palmer is going to require specialist knowledge. I can fix them to a degree but when the weird bits break. They are junk

Quite the opposite, I'm a big PPS supporter. If you don't want to listen it's fine, you'll get the general public notice shortly.

Rams can't be rebuilt and not off the shelf...
-Neither could any of the old Clippard rams. So?

And Typhoon rams are, in fact, off the shelf. I don't have the part number on hand, and I don't know of Clippard still carries them, but somewhere around here I have an old Clippard catalog with them listed in it.

Crappy timing methods which degrade or break over time.
-None of which is unfixable. I've made a handful of aluminum bellcranks over the years. You're right in that it's not an ideal design by any standard, but it's also by no means unrepairable, unserviceable or unworkable.

Hell the BBT typhoon I have the plastic bits used in the trigger mechanism recent crumbled.
-Some plastics do that. Like AGD 4500 seals, Sledgehammer seals and old feed elbows. None of which, again, is irreplaceable or irreproducible.

A Spyder can be repaired by a zit covered teen.... A palmer is going to require specialist knowledge.
-Just like Angels, Intimidators, Excaliburs, early Novas, Tiberius pistols, Ions, old Shockers, Sandridges, Karnivores and about a hundred other markers over the years. There is nothing overly unique about a Palmer that makes it any more or less difficult to work on than any other marker.

I can fix them to a degree but when the weird bits break. They are junk
-Well, next time you run across one you deem unfixable, send it my way. I'll give it a good home.

You're right, Clippard should have a ram, but PPS used Humphreys rams if it matters. Otherwise, an off the industrial shelf pneumatic ram.

You may be right, I may have been thinking of a Humphries catalog. It's been a good while since I looked at either of those.

But in any case, rams are probably available, or something close can be adapted. Just because Palmer Brand™ Factory Authorized Rams® may no longer be available, doesn't mean the markers are suddenly junk.

Last time I took apart a PPS gun it had an off the self Bimba ram in it. Granted that was more than 15 years ago so I don't know if that changed over the years.

Anyway, very sad news about PPS.

Wasn't sure if the order would go through or not, but got some parts i needed and they arrived about a week later. Not sure if he's just liquidating current inventory or shutting down the storefront/shop to keep overhead down?

                    Chris Mader! That's a name I haven't seen in a long time.

                    Welcome back!
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."
